Overview
Job Purpose
ICE Data Services provides global securities evaluations, reference data, and analytics designed to support financial institutions' and investment funds' valuation activities, securities operations, research, and portfolio management.
The ICE Data Services technology team is looking for a Director of Development to develop and maintaining UI applications that enable ICE's customers to utilize our products and content in their workflows.
The Director of Development will lead and manage the UI global development team's efforts, architectural direction as well as mentor developers. This role will require close collaboration with Product owners, other development groups and QA to ensure high quality deliverables. The ideal candidate for this position will be a results focused, self-directed individual with demonstrable experience in building and maintaining UI applications that support a diverse set of business applications with complex workflows and functionality. The role requires extensive experience with modern web-based UI development as well as leading and managing global development teams.
Responsibilities
Manage a global team of developers and provide technical direction on multiple projects
Provide technical leadership and guidance to development teams, including UI architecture, design, code reviews, automated testing, coding standards
Collaborate with key technology and business stakeholders to construct functional UI/UX requirements
Effectively communicate designs and architecture to senior management
Strong project management skills, including organizing and prioritizing work for software releases
Some travel may be required (US and Global)
Knowledge and Experience
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or Software/Computer Engineering (or equivalent)
8+ years of experience managing multiple development teams and software using modern software development tools and processes, including Agile
Extensive experience leading web-based development efforts using HTML5, JavaScript, CSS, React/Redux and NodeJS
Knowledge of market best practices for modern UI/UX development
Ability to multitask and lead multiple projects in a fast paced environment
Must be detail oriented, possess strong organizational and communication skills
Experience with managing production support and root cause analysis
Experience with Redis (or similar caches), RDBMS, Messaging and Java technologies is a plus
Experience in the financial services domain is a plus
Schedule
This role offers work from home flexibility of up to 2 days per week.
