Account Manager
Description of specific duties in a typical workday for this position:
The position will report to the Vice President of Growth Operations and support the Vice President of the SLED sector in aggressively growing the business.
The primary responsibility for this position is to achieve revenue growth in existing, adjacent, and new areas for the sector. This is accomplished through developing, improving, and executing upon business development strategies, account plans, call plans, and opportunity pipelines. The position requires learning and selling company service offerings.
Duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:
Manage local and regional sales activities, promotions, and campaigns.
Identify emerging markets to explore new sales opportunities
Create, update, and manage opportunity pipelines within a designated customer relationship management application
Develop, maintain, and improve upon sales strategies, inclusive of account plans, collateral, partnerships, and forecasts
Identify, score, and mature opportunities into viable pursuits and captured contracts and revenue
Engage in customer meetings, industry events, and company collaborative sessions both in person and virtually
Prepare and deliver gate packages and reports to various stakeholders, including executives, justifying investment in sales activities
Participate in capture and proposal efforts, including developing win themes, facilitating teaming agreements, Strength Based Writing and reviewing content
Achieve annual sales targets as tracked on a quarterly basis
Execute work in alignment with industry, customer, and company ethics, policies, and processes
Position Requirements: Five years of direct government sales of services within the SLED market
Bachelor’s degree in government, business, or information technology
Experience in government sales and services within the National Capitol Region focusing on the State of Maryland
Experience working within the government technology services domain
Ability to work collaboratively in a distributed team environment
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Proven, recent sales of over $5M annually to customers in the SLED market
Nice to Have: Experience with GovWin
Experience with Capture2Proposal or other CRM tools
Familiarity and Experience with sales using the NASPO ValuePoint contract
Proven track record of consistent annual sales of $10M or more in the SLED Sector
This is a full-time position paying a base salary range of $80,000 - 100,000, with full benefits, and has possible bonus potential based on merit and performance.
