We seek an experienced aerospace Project Engineer to support a long-term internal transfer program. The project entails the development and documentation of existing products into IDD's PLM. In this role, you will be a part of the product development engineering team to support design solutions on new products and support existing product design improvements. Candidates must have experience with configuration management and change control.

Management Responsibilities

Manages day-to-day operational aspects of a project, including reoccurring status meetings with engineering, production, planning and supply chain.

Identifies resources needed and assigns individual responsibilities. Monitor and update resource capacity as appropriate.

Communicates effectively with cross-functional team leaders to identify needs and evaluate alternative solutions.

Minimizes exposure to risk in the program.

Ensures project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately.

Prepares Monthly Program Dashboards for reporting to Management.

Engineering Responsibilities

Generating detailed designs, specifications, testing, and bill of material that meet customer requirements.

Work with multiple engineering & quality departments as part of a cross-functional team.

Perform system requirements analysis.

Create and manage requirements documentation and system-level interface for design documentation.

Perform safety reliability, maintainability, and environmental analysis.

Perform requirements and design verification and traceability analysis.

Create system verification and validation plans and procedures and performs verification and validation activities.

Conduct quality checks of drawings, documents, and reports, verifying the accuracy of data, information, and calculations.

Assist in the preparation of estimates, engineering change orders, schedules, and budgets.

Generate applicable documentation to support the design process.

Complementary Description Accountability

This position is under ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations) and must meet export control compliance requirements. Job Requirements Skills and abilities

Product development in a stage-gate structure (PDR, CDR, PRR)

Product validation, including development of a qualification plan

Knowledge of Aerospace standards (AS9100, DO160, DO254, DO178, ABD100, AS7788, etc…) is desirable

Familiar with contracts and contract language

Good working knowledge of Microsoft Project, Word, and Excel. Experience working in a configuration management system (PLM) and ERP is desirable

Experience in design for manufacturability (DFM)

Strong verbal/written communication skills

Must have the ability to effectively work in a team atmosphere, interacting with both internal and external customers.

The ideal candidate will have an engineering or planning background with hands-on experience working with manufactured products. Also, will have managed cross-functional project teams in the development of products and has worked with manufacturing to address product industrialization.

Experience/Education

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering

Minimum of 3-5 years related experience in product development engineering

Experience in developing new products in a highly regulated industry (Aerospace flight deck design background is preferred)

Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
