Walmart Technology is seeking a highly skilled and experienced senior ServiceNow Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of ServiceNow modules, with a focus on Configuration Management Database (CMDB), Discovery, Event Management and Service Mapping.
The Developer must align with the Architects/Technical Design Team on the project and will be responsible for ensuring design is supported by the underlying vendor software. The deliverables are expected to meet the high-quality standards of Walmart and ServiceNow best practices.
An ideal candidate must be self-motivated with a proven track record in ITOM module of ServiceNow that includes CMDB, Discovery and Event Management and comfortable in the dynamic atmosphere of a technical organization with a rapidly expanding customer base. Candidate must be organized and analytical, adept at working in a team environment, able to implement on time to a project schedule, and able to handle multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment.
The ideal candidate shall understand the ServiceNow platform and applications/processes running on it. The candidate will perform the necessary tasks to design and develop the solutions along with customizations for existing solutions. A successful candidate will be proficient in troubleshooting issues in the production environment. Must be able to work both independently and as a productive member of a project team. The position requires the candidate to work closely with key client stakeholders and senior technology leaders.

Included in this are data platforms, enterprise architecture, DevOps, cloud computing, and infrastructure. All of these products and services are supported by scalable and powerful infrastructure, ensuring a secure and seamless employee and customer experience across stores, digital channels, and distribution centers.
What you'll do:
Lead the design and optimization of the CMDB structure.
Implement best practices for data population and normalization.
Ensure accuracy and completeness of CMDB information.
Configure and maintain ServiceNow Discovery processes.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to discover and map configuration items.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to discovery processes.
Interact with engineers across geographies to leverage expertise and collaborate on deliveries as per the product road map.
Engage with product manager and business stakeholder/process owner to help drive the product roadmap.
Help/Guide engineers on the team on all technical questions related to development of highly scalable and high-performance business solutions on ServiceNow platform.
End-to-end development, deployment & maintenance of out of box products, custom code, custom applications running on the ServiceNow platform.
Knowledge of building complete end to end applications on the ServiceNow platform.
Contribute to the growth of the technical community within Walmart.
Mentor new/junior resources on the team.
What you'll bring:
Bachelor’s or equivalent/above degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
Proven experience as a Senior ServiceNow Engineer with a focus on CMDB, Discovery, Event Management, and Service Mapping.
5+ years of experience in design and development of highly scalable and high-performance applications on the ServiceNow platform.
REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
Strong communication, presentation, and writing skills.
System integration experience using APIs (REST/) and JSON/XML payload.
Advanced understanding of ServiceNow platform.
Advanced level programming skills in JavaScript.
Advanced experience in ServiceNow modules like Configuration Management Database, Discovery, and Event Management.
Experience in the Performance, Analytics and Reporting module of ServiceNow.
Development experience with web UI development technologies that include HTML, CSS, Java script and AJAX.
Experience with business rules, script includes, UI actions, scheduled jobs and all scripted aspects of the ServiceNow platform.
Experience with Agile development and IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) processes.
Understands technical and non-functional design requirements related to development on ServiceNow platform.
A fundamental understanding of ITSM and ITIL processes.
PREFERRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
“ServiceNow certified Admin” certification.
"ServiceNow certified application developer” certification.
Excellent troubleshooting skills with ability to demonstrate influence in a consultative fashion to stakeholders and other team members.
Experience with development and implementation of ServiceNow ITSM modules – Request Management, Asset management, Incident Management, Problem Management, Change Management, Knowledge Management and other OOB applications.
Experience in building ServiceNow custom/scoped applications.
Exposure to ServiceNow platform capabilities.
Exposure to ServiceNow platform upgrade processes.
Experience in other scripting languages like Python or Power Shell.
Customizing ServiceNow using UI pages, UI macro and CMS using CSS, HTML, and Jelly.
Custom UI changes with usage of web technologies such as DOM, and HTML changes.
Experience presenting and conducting demo reviews with product stakeholders.
Ability to create widgets and build service portal pages.
