Position Overview:
The driver provides safe, reliable and courteous transportation of residents to outings, medical appointments, and personal appointments.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
include but not limited to the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Operates a passenger vehicle safely and efficiently, monitoring traffic, road conditions and weather to ensure timely arrivals to appointments and outings, and promptly reports delays.
Assists residents in boarding and exiting the vehicle, which may include loading and unloading packages, personal assistive devices, and operation and use of ramps and lifts as needed.
Inspects interior and exterior of vehicle at beginning and end of each shift to ensure the vehicle is cleaned, fueled, properly functioning, and reports issues to the supervisor immediately.
Education and/or Experience : California Class B Drivers License with passenger endorsement in good standing and 3 years of similar experience. Driving record and experience must meet the requirements to maintain coverage under ECS' auto insurance policy. Experience working with the public required, working with seniors preferred. Must be able to work independently within the schedule assigned. Must have knowledge of vehicle safety and control systems.
