Delta Air Lines requires a leader of Information Technology to support Airport Customer Service development and maintenance of technology solutions. This position will lead the definition of a portfolio wide product delivery strategy for Airport Customer Service technology with focus on Bag Operations. Developing a roadmap for common components and solutions using modern application development techniques, Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) and predictive architectures to manage and modernize work, associate and customer management solutions. She/he will lead capabilities to analyze, design, develop, maintain and enhance architecture, APIs and products across the airport customer service product domains.
The IT Manager is responsible for the team leadership, mentorship and coaching, ensuring on budget and on time delivery of critical capital and operational initiatives, and promoting and leading Delta’s technology leadership culture throughout their teams to deliver world class customer experiences. The IT Manager also owns the hiring and resource management of best in class team members to contribute towards mentorship of a scaled agile operating model that ensures high quality and high velocity deliveries. She/He will need to drive Engineering practices, like TDD and drive agility, productivity and employee satisfaction. This role, reporting to the General Manager Software Engineering, acts as a domain expert and will partner with peer level positions across the IT and business organization in order to build an industry best customer experience.
This is what you will be doing:
Lead technical teams
Strong leadership ability with a track record of developing people and achieving challenging objectives
Assist with evangelism of the APIs, services, and capabilities the team builds to enable efficient client applications that are quick to market
Translating business strategies and aligning them with IT technologies and assets.
Drive the modernization of application development to perform flawless implementations
Is seen as a thought leader on technical issues, stays ahead of technical developments in field; knows what new technologies will help the business
Leading team efforts, delegating tasks, following up on progress of the team and coaching junior and new team members
Supervise/Manage all aspects (including coaching, providing direction, staffing, delivering reviews, setting aligned objectives, time reporting, etc.) of direct reports overall performance
Ensure that any new projects allocated are professionally defined with particular emphasis on risk assessment, work break-down structure, scheduling, and resources
Spends his/her time and the time of others on what's important; quickly zeros in on the critical few and puts the trivial many aside; can quickly sense what will help or hinder accomplishing a goal
Delivering with Quality and Speed
Leading teams and hands on implementing front ends associated with the technical designs for product/project teams
Determining feasibility, timing, and cost of front end solutions, interacting with business and product owners in order to define technical solutions for customer problems
Production issue triage, management, and prevention as needed
Technical definition and implementation for analytics, error logging/tracking, and other key functional customer interactions on delta.com
Technical debt resolutions, prevention & code reviews
Analysis and implementation of Performance/Stability/Reliability initiatives
Drive customer experiences and design, with data
Monitors metrics, problems, trends, etc, in order to determine solutions, required process changes, etc. that will make the function more efficient
Design reviews for feasibility, accessibility and impact analysis
Research & Development of POCs & innovative new ideas for airport customer service agents interactions with Delta systems
Communicate effectively
Strong technical and non-technical communication skills. Participate and coach in a stand up and be able to interact with business partners and cross functional IT leadership

What You Need To Succeed (minimum Qualifications)
BS/BA, preferably in a technical or scientific field, with 6 or more years of experience in IT project based environment, or any equivalent combination of experience, education, and/or training.
Agile and preferably scaled agile experience
Open thinker, willing to bring in new ideas and concepts to the team
Experience in leading teams using various web technologies like: AWS, Cloud technologies, JavaScript, CSS, SASS, HTML, jQuery, Modern MVC JavaScript frameworks (Ember, Angular, React), Handlebars, Twitter Bootstrap, Springboot, Jenkins.
Experience with an API Management product and Developer Adoption program
Ability to be effective in a high stress environment
Demonstrated extensive leadership experience in managing complex processes within cross functional teams
Exemplify a world class competitive mindset for implementing continuous improvement methodologies
Excellent leadership skills with experience leading teams and direct reports
