Under California Government Code Section 14200, this position is eligible for hybrid telework and may be eligible for full-time remote work in some circumstances and/or time-periods, at the sole discretion of the Department. Telework-eligible applicants must reside in California. Headquarter location will be designated on the selected candidate's primary residence location. This is subject to change if HCD's criteria is met.

Under the direction of the Information Technology Manager I (ITM1), the Information Technology Specialist I (ITS I) will serve as a Web Developer in the Web Application Services Unit. Collaborating closely with the Web Lead (Information Technology Specialist II) and ITM I, the ITS I will be responsible for the development, design, and deployment of custom online web applications tailored to meet the specific business needs and requirements of the department. The ITS I will collaborate with the Web Lead and various web liaisons across HCD to manage both internal and public-facing websites. Additionally, the role will encompass ongoing web support, accessibility testing, development, integration, deployment, and maintenance of Internet/intranet applications. Ensuring optimal usability, availability, and performance, while adhering to modern web standards and agile development methodologies.

Statement Of Qualifications (SOQ)

Please describe your experience with full stack web development. Provide a specific example of a project you have worked on, the technology used, and your role on the project.

Please provide an example of a defect with a web application that you were assigned to resolve. Describe how you approached the assignment, the outcome, and what you would do differently in the future.
