HCVT operates under a hybrid working model. Effective Jan 1, 2024, employees are expected to work at their assigned office a minimum of two days per week. In the event that this is not geographically reasonable, you may work in the office closest to your home. Additionally, we expect employees to participate in required firm events/meeting (e.g., trainings, team bonding, client meetings, etc.)
As a Senior in our Tax service line, you will be responsible for, but not limited to the following: Prepare and review federal and multi-state income tax returns for exempt organizations.
Prepare more complex client work and delegate entry level work to staff accountants
Take ownership and organize workflow of client engagements, ensuring filing deadlines are met
Identify tax issues and propose strategies to resolve them
Research technical tax information
Respond to and prepare correspondences to tax authorities
Responsible for meeting engagement timelines and budget guidelines, and provide job status to partners, managers, and client personnel in a timely manner
Develop strong relationships with firm professionals and clients
Supervise and manage expectations of engagement teams, staff accountants and/or interns on your teams
Coach and provide feedback to junior team members
Effectively utilize and train others on firm tax preparation software
Participate in staff and senior level trainings
Ensure high quality of work product
To be successful, these are the skills, qualities and experience you will need: 2+ years of experience depending on relevant work experience
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related major required
Passed all 4 sections of the CPA Exam is desired but not required; we would like to see at least one or two sections completed
Strong technical aptitude and communication skills
Ability to work independently
Has proven experience in leading and supervising a team
Can learn, teach, and supervise in a fast paced environment and is receptive to feedback and coaching
Ability to multi-task, prioritize responsibilities, and take initiative on projects
Has high attention to detail
Has a positive attitude and a team player mentality with a can-do spirit
Microsoft Office skills must all be strong
Proficiency in Thomas Reuders, GoSystem, ProSystems or equivalent is required

This salary range is specific to the state(s) listed and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill set and education; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. A reasonable estimate of the range for this position is $95,000 to $130,000 .
