Job Description :
Austin Energy is recruiting for a high-energy, articulate, and organized individual to support end users of cross-functional applications by monitoring, resolving, tracking, trending, and recommending fixes to end users and project teams. This position will report to the Program Manager of Projects and Technologies located at the customer's site in Austin, Texas. Austin Energy's Projects and Technologies Program is part of the utility's Advanced Grid Technologies group, focused on core and emerging utility technology. The successful candidate will be responsible for day-to-day end user operations of multiple utility applications, achieved by assisting users in resolving issues, tracking issue trends, recommend and test fixes, participating in vendor roadmap discussions of existing and proposed technologies, and determining customer objectives by analyzing business functions.
Essential duties and functions may include the following. Other related duties may be assigned.
Meets with decision makers, system owners and end users to define business, operations requirements and systems goals
Provides day to day end user support and walks users through fixes; provides root cause analysis as required
Alerts IT/OT partners to application and/or system issues via escalation channels
Assists or consults during requirements gathering sessions to elicit requirements, specifications, business processes and recommendations related to potential system integration solutions
Creates models, use cases, process flows, specifications, diagrams and charts to provide direction to developers, designers, and vendors
Writes and delivers reports, recommendations, or alternatives that address portfolio needs
Coordinates and performs testing, including end-user reviews for modified and new systems, training and other post-implementation and portfolio support
Conducts weekly and ad hoc meetings on program and program initiatives; track issues through resolution lifecycle; works with team to develop and deliver presentations for use in program related meetings
Required Skills: 4 years of experience with with utility service technologies, including but not limited to: Maximo, Outage Maps, GIS (Smallworld or ESRI), Asset Management, Vegetation Management, Engineering analysis and modeling software, AutoCAD
4 years of experience with Ability to recognize data trends and formulate process improvements and application improvements
4 years of experience with Ability to facilitate stakeholder workshops, produce meeting minutes, track items to completion
4 years of experience with Ability to solicit process steps and produce process maps using Visio or similar application
4 years of experience with Ability to write detailed work instructions based on process maps
4 years of experience with Ability to translate end user application needs to IT and vendor partners
4 years of experience with system integration testing, end to end testing, and creating end user test scripts
Preferred Skills: 4 years of experience in recognizing data trends
4 years of experience with enterprise level projects and project coordination
4 years of experience in formulating application improvement recommendations
4 years of experience in presenting to multiple levels of an organization
