A law firm in Baltimore is seeking a Senior Real Estate Attorney with a demonstrated understanding of real property law, real estate finance, and substantial experience handling complex responsibilities. The ideal candidate will possess strong written and oral communication skills, creative problem-solving abilities, and a knack for business development. Significant client interaction and the ability to generate business will be essential.
Duties:
Manage and oversee commercial real estate transactions from inception to closing.
Advise clients on real estate development projects, including land use and zoning issues.
Negotiate and draft commercial leases and other real estate agreements.
Handle mortgage lending transactions and financing arrangements.
Conduct due diligence reviews and title examinations.
Provide legal counsel on real estate investment and asset management.
Represent clients in real estate litigation matters, if necessary.
Build and maintain strong client relationships through effective communication and representation.
Requirements:
4+ years of experience in commercial real estate transactions, real estate development, leasing, land use and zoning, and mortgage lending.
Demonstrated understanding of real property law and real estate finance.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Creative problem-solving abilities.
Proven ability to handle significant responsibility and manage complex matters.
Aptitude for business generation and client development.
Education:
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
Certifications:
Admission to the State Bar of Maryland (required).
Skills:
Proficiency in drafting and negotiating real estate contracts and agreements.
Knowledge of real estate due diligence and title examination processes.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Attention to detail and accuracy in work product.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic legal environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research tools.
