Energy Trading Attorney (Hybrid - Chicago)

Are you an experienced energy trading attorney looking for a role supporting a corporate legal department? Latitude is helping a client find an attorney for an engagement role to support the legal department of a large corporation with handling its energy trading matters. This is an immediate need. Requirements: 6+ years of experience as an energy trading attorney

Experience with energy trading transactions – with an emphasis on ISDA Master agreements, EEI Master Agreements, NAESB Agreements, and complimentary transaction documents

Prior experience working in the corporate practice group of an AmLaw 200 firm or in house at a large corporation preferred

Licensed and in good standing in state of residence

Schedule: Full time

Term: 6 months

Location: NYC metro area, Chicago or Houston; hybrid schedule

Compensation: Pay : The annualized pay for this position ranges from $150,000 to $200,000 when calculated on a full-time basis. Pay for contract engagements is based on multiple factors including but not limited to work experience, qualifications, credentials, location, market supply/demand, and the candidate’s preference (each candidate’s pay rate affects the client bill rate which can affect the candidate’s competitiveness for the position).Benefits : In addition to pay, all Latitude Attorneys and other legal professionals working on contract engagements receive complimentary professional liability insurance coverage. All Latitude employees (including those on contract engagements) are also eligible for full benefits when working 20+ hours per week, including group medical, dental, and vision insurance, and complimentary group life, LTD and AD&D insurance. A qualified 401k plan is also available. Benefits-eligible Latitude Attorneys also receive a CLE and Professional Expense stipend.
