POSITION SUMMARY
The Sr. Inventory Analyst improves the efficiency of supply chain operations through data collection, analysis, and will provide leadership to Elk Grove Village and Wood Dale Warehouse on functions which impact MAPICS ERP system inventory accuracy. Lead functions related to cycle counts, physical inventories (if applicable), perform ERP System reconciliation, and support local purchasing for production and office supplies not handled under MRP.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Follows plant safety procedures and guidelines; wears and utilizes personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
Informs supervisor of safety issues; reports any workplace injury or incident immediately.
Follows plant quality practices including Good Manufacturing Practices, or GMPs.
Leadership
Lead the Wood Dale Warehouse inventory cycle count team.
Lead Elk Grove Village Shipping and Receiving and Inventory Control Specialists (ICS).
Cycle Counts
Establish processes for cycle counts by item and location, a minimal of once per quarter for both WD and EG, ideally 5-6 times per year.
ERP (MAPICS) System Reconciliation
Closing orders
Purging orders
Maintaining inventories current with physical

Purchasing/Supply Chain
Coordinate purchasing for non-MRP and non-MRO purchases such as safety, production, or office supplies
Analyzes inventory levels, production speed, product demand, and shipment schedules to determine reorder levels to ensure product availability and minimize inventory costs
Gathers and analyzes data to develop insights to enable the optimization of the plants supply chain operations.
Continuously reviews the movement of materials and other supply chain process to identify sources of problems and develop suggestion for solutions
Establishes and maintains backup source for high-demand items.
Assesses inventory reports and order patterns to identify items in need of automatic, recurring delivery.
Provides inventory reports to purchasing and inventory control manager.
Develops and maintains good working relationships with vendors.
Maintains accurate daily records of goods received and shipments made.
May assist in the negotiation of contracts or service agreements
Measure supply chain performance and report to management.
Work with the procurement, logistics and IT departments to enhance service delivery.
Assess vendor operations and enforce compliance with quality standards.
Projects
Is the local point of contact for BOM / Routing updates.
Coordinate gauge reduction efforts
QUALIFICATIONS
5+ years experience in Production Planning, Logistics, Supply Chain Operations, Finance, or other data driven environment including physical inventory and cycle counting
BA/BS Degree preferred
Knowledge of Supply Chain and Planning Processes
Process oriented, attention to detail
Excellent communication skills
Moderate to advanced computer skills
Willingness to work and follow verbal/written instructions.
Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning Systems (ERP)
Must have the ability to integrate information and data from a variety of sources to develop an optimized work plan
Must have strong organization skills and be detail oriented with the ability to multi-task and prioritize work responsibilities with sense of urgency to meet deadlines
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Mostly office based with extensive walking through the plant and warehouse. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently exposed to heat. Performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and products with sharp edges. The noise level in the occasional work environment is usually loud.
