Creative Lead, Video & Animation
, CA, United States
Job Description
We are looking for a concept driven, design-savvy, and visual-storytelling thinker that can help translate our client’s business goals into cool, unexpected short films. We need out-of-the-box thinking not only in concepts but also in how we pitch and execute on projects. The Creative Lead should come with a diverse, even international, perspective that will help to plus and challenge our own creative approaches. The job requires someone who is totally tuned in to the latest design and storytelling techniques, with a desire to tweak, break, and flip them on their head. The Creative Lead should always be totally curious and aware of cultural trends in tech, music, fashion, and food. This is like an ACD position but with experience that spans both art and writing.
On any given day with us the CL could be writing a treatment, giving feedback on a live-action edit, jumping on a client call, or leading the design and animation teams with visual and story direction. Our projects often include a mix of live-action footage and graphics, so the creative lead should feel comfortable mixing and mashing mediums to get fresh and memorable results.

5 years of leading creative video and animation projects
Tasteful design sensibility
Fantastic writing and verbal communication skills
Collaborative AND decisive at the same time
Solid experience with Adobe Creative Cloud Products
Keen sense of storytelling (visual and editorial)
Interest in music and sound design as a crucial part of filmmaking
Live-action directing is a bonus but not required
Interest in good french fries and hanging with some of the cutest dogs on planet earth
About Us
We started Skycar Creative in 2014 with a vision of producing films that speak to audiences through meaningful content and thoughtful execution. We are a small shop with big clients run by a team of smart, kind, and curious creatives. We work with an expanding roster of global technology brands including Adobe, HPE, Google, Okta, and The Stellar Foundation. While we take our work very seriously, we don’t take ourselves too seriously - which fosters an open, welcoming environment for diverse and original ideas. We’ve earned a reputation of delivering work that goes further than our clients expect - with a process that is transparent, collaborative, and fun. We value diverse voices not only in our production teams but also in our project content and talent choices. We live and breathe imagery, stories, humor, and design. It’s our professional life. And our families are equally important to our professional lives, so we balance the two naturally and intentionally.
We offer competitive pay and benefits based on experience.
