About the Role
The Company is seeking two Deputy Chief Operating Officers to oversee a diverse range of essential public services. The successful candidates will be responsible for the executive and strategic management of multiple departments, including but not limited to, health, community justice, community services, libraries, emergency management, and homeless services. This role involves shaping and realizing the company's vision, mission, and values, as well as leading in the advancement of racial equity. The ideal candidates will have a proven track record in championing diversity, inclusion, and equity, both internally and externally. They must be adept at leading in times of change, defining and analyzing complex functions, and operating in a political environment with a focus on problem-solving and results.Candidates for the Deputy COO positions at the company should possess a Bachelor's degree and a minimum of seven years of leadership experience. The roles require the ability to provide direction that aligns with the company's values and to manage a diverse workforce. Key responsibilities include supervising department directors, evaluating performance, and making significant personnel and budget decisions. The Deputy COOs will also be expected to champion the company's Workforce Equity Strategic Plan, participate in the budget process, and ensure operational designs are centered on equity. Strong communication skills, the ability to build relationships, and a passion for progressive public policy and community service are essential. The positions demand a high level of skill in organizational management, data-driven decision-making, and a commitment to creating a safe and inclusive work environment.
