Responsibilities & Expectations:
Server-Side Development:
Develop and maintain server-side components using C# and the .NET framework.
Implement scalable and high-performance backend services.
API Design and Development: Design and implement RESTful APIs for communication between the frontend and backend systems.
Ensure API endpoints are well-documented and adhere to best practices.
Code Reviews and Collaboration: Collaborate with front-end developers, product managers, and other team members.
Participate in code reviews to maintain code quality and standards.
Version Control: Use version control systems (e.g., Git) effectively.
Collaborate with a team using branching strategies and pull requests.
Testing: Write unit tests and integration tests to ensure the reliability of backend services.
Implement and advocate for test-driven development (TDD) practices.
Scalability and Architecture: Contribute to the architectural decisions for scalable and maintainable backend systems.
Implement and maintain microservices architecture.
Extra Credit (Preferred)
Database Management: Design and optimize database schemas using technologies like SQL Server, MySQL, or NoSQL databases.
Write efficient and optimized database queries.
Integration of External Services: Integrate third-party services, APIs, and libraries into the backend system.
Handle authentication, authorization, and data synchronization with external systems.
Security Implementation: Implement security best practices to protect against common web vulnerabilities (e.g., SQL injection, cross-site scripting).
Ensure data privacy and implement secure authentication and authorization mechanisms.
Performance Optimization: Identify and optimize performance bottlenecks in backend systems.
Conduct load testing and performance tuning.
Skills/Competencies
C# and .NET: Proficient in C# programming language and the .NET framework.
Web Frameworks: Experience with web frameworks like ASP.NET Core for building web applications.
API Development: Strong understanding of RESTful API design principles.
Testing Tools: Familiarity with testing tools and frameworks (e.g., NUnit, xUnit) for backend testing.
Version Control: Proficient in using Git for version control.
Communication Skills: Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams and ability to analyze complex problems and provide effective solutions.
Continuous Learning: Willingness to stay updated with the latest technologies and best practices in backend development.
Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Travel Requirements: Ability to travel to Austin (or any location that may be requested) as required by Leadership
