The IBM Systems Administrator is responsible for provisioning, installation, configuration and maintenance of server hardware and software. The successful candidate will possess excellent understanding of the IBM Power i platform. This position is best suited to a reliable and motivated person who enjoys learning new technologies and works well in a team environment.

Primary Responsibilities

24x7 on-call for production-related issues

Support server hardware infrastructure including IBM Power I, Dell/EMC Data Domain, HMC and VIOS

Support and configure IBM BRMS implementation across IBM Power i landscape

User account management and support on IBM OS/400 operating system

Administer file systems (IFS) and permissions on IBM OS/400 operating system

Understand DHCP, DNS, LDAP, SSH and other networking protocols

Scripting and automation of repetitive server tasks

Participate in software and hardware planning and design

Administer SAN storage systems, including backup and recovery of IBM Lpars

Support Software Package installation for IBM Power i

Troubleshoot, diagnose and communicate hardware and/or software issues

Leading small-to-large-sized technical projects

Assist with the planning long-range technology directions

Job Qualifications

Education:

High School diploma or equivalent required

Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience

Experience:

5+ years of experience administering IBM Power I, HMC and VIOS Servers, including system installation, patching and upgrades.

2+ years of experience with shell scripting and task automation using at least one of the following: CL Development, Python, or shell script.

5+ years of experience with SAN storage administration and backup/recovery practices and procedures.

5+ years of experience with IBM OS/400 and IBM BRMS

Strong written and verbal communication skills required.

Compensation Range:

The referenced salary range is based on the Company's good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training and skill level.

( $99,647- $124,558)
