As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will help make our engineering teams productive by providing automated build and deployment pipelines while supporting the worldwide operations of our cloud-based video security solutions.
This position will join our Innovation Center located in Santa Clara, CA.
Responsibilities:
CI/CD
Develop tools that take code from repository to production in an automated manner that is maintainable, scalable, and repeatable.
Own the end-to-end delivery pipeline, including source code repository management, versioning/tagging strategy, component build and packaging, integrating test automation tools, release staging, security and IP scans, third-party conformance tools, and artifact storage and distribution.
Execute on CI/CD and infrastructure-related tasks required by engineering teams.
Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
Develop and maintain global cloud infrastructure through automation, driving improvements to ensure high-availability, performance, scalability, reliability, and security.
Drive infrastructure reliability and disaster recovery planning through standardization, testing, and documentation.
Participate in system design, capacity planning and production readiness reviews before services go live.
Monitoring
Help drive monitoring and alerting initiatives to ensure uptime of all systems and enable understanding of system behavior.
Participate in on-call rotation to respond to, triage, and resolve production issues in an expedited manner.
Participate in incident review for production issues and implement solutions to avoid reoccurrence.
Other
Maintain the values of the team which include engineering excellence, collaboration, curiosity, a bias for action, and driving initiatives to completion.
Stay up to date with technology and industry trends to continually drive innovation in our architecture, technology choices, engineering practices, and products.
Desired Skills and Experience:
7+ years’ DevOps and Site Reliability experience building developer productivity tools and designing and operating large-scale production infrastructure in a public cloud environment, AWS preferred.
3+ years’ experience managing production Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
3+ years’ experience with AWS services such as IAM, VPC, EKS, Lambda, RDS, SQS.
3+ years’ experience implementing and managing container and orchestration infrastructure utilizing platforms such as Docker and Kubernetes.
You have strong knowledge of Terraform, Helm Charts, and scripting languages such as bash, PowerShell, Python, etc.
You have experience with implementing and managing build infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitHub Actions.
You have experience with monitoring production applications and infrastructure using tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/OpenSearch, OpenTelemetry, Datadog, etc.
You have strong computer science fundamentals such as data structures, algorithms, and software application design.
You have outstanding technical problem-solving, design, and coding skills.
You can communicate effectively & persuasively, both in person and in written form.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
Bonus Skills:
Working knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases, message queues, and caching systems.
Experience designing a network architecture and a solid understanding of networking fundamentals and protocols.
Experience with designing and administering security in cloud environments.
Experience with SOC 2, ISO, GDPR, PCI DSS compliance from a DevOps perspective.
