Location of Position:
Houston, TX
The Position:
As a Willbanks Senior Estimator, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the success of the organization by accurately estimating costs related to materials, equipment, and other relevant areas. You will play a critical role in project planning by providing detailed and precise cost analysis, enabling informed decision-making and efficient resource allocation. Your expertise will ensure that projects are completed within budget, enhancing the overall profitability and competitive edge of the organization.
What you’ll do
Review and comprehend documents such as Request for Proposals and Request for Quotes.
Assess cost-effectiveness of products, projects, and services.
Assist Estimators with product selections and plan/spec review.
Communicate with owners, architects, MEP Consultants and General, Mechanical and Electrical Contractors.
Speak with customers/prospects to understand their needs and relay this information to Sales.
Serve as liaison with other departments in the company to gather technical expertise to support the Sales Team.
Review supplier and subcontractor proposals and pricing for accuracy and completeness.
Review data to determine material, labor, and equipment requirements and prepare itemized lists.
Review site inspection reports for analysis of conditions and assessment of risk, and identification of activities that may or may not be shown in tender documents.
Maintain up-to-date and accurate contact information for suppliers, subcontractors, manufacturers, and clients.
Train and onboard new hires to the department to ensure processes are followed.
Read, understand, and interpret building mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and fire protection plans & specifications.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required.
Technical-related associate degree or some post-secondary education preferred.
Track record to successfully estimating and negotiating large, complex projects required.
Five (5) years or more experience in the mechanical, electrical, and/or plumbing industry.
Experience with Commercial Domestic water systems, building Hydronic heating systems and equipment, and estimating of pipes, valves, and fittings.
