Your Role
Oversees a specialized crew involved in a variety of duties, including but not limited to the construction, repair and maintenance of streets, traffic signals, sidewalks, underground utilities, etc.; assists crew with daily tasks, as needed.
Reviews approved 2-week schedule with Superintendents and receives assigned tasks.
Reads and understands project plans and specifications thoroughly.
Inspects work areas before, during and upon completion of assigned tasks to ensure the quality and accuracy of the work adheres to the project specifications and that the crew meets productivity expectations,
Communicates all construction needs – material, equipment and staffing - to the Project Superintendent in order to prevent delays.
Transports employees, hand tools, electric/gas equipment and miscellaneous supplies required for scheduled daily tasks.
Codes packing slips/shipping tickets with appropriate pay items and submits them to the Superintendent for review and submission
Completes required paperwork on a daily/weekly basis and submits to the Project Superintendent for approval, to include production sheets, timesheets, equipment/vehicle inspection reports, etc.
Understands pay items and phase codes for each project
Participates in the interviewing, hiring and terminating processes for direct reports.
Attends weekly Foremen meetings.
What you bring
High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in construction management or a related field is preferred.
Proven experience in bridge construction or civil construction projects, with at least 5 years of experience in a supervisory role.
Strong knowledge of construction techniques, materials, and safety regulations related to bridge construction.
Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively manage and motivate construction crews.
Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
Familiarity with construction equipment and tools, and the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Strong problem-solving abilities and the ability to make decisions under pressure.
Attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.
Physical Requirements
The role of Traffic Signals Foreman in the civil construction industry demands physical fitness and endurance. Foremen must be capable of standing, walking, and climbing for extended periods, often in challenging terrain and weather conditions. They should have the strength and agility to lift and move heavy construction materials and equipment, as well as the dexterity to operate hand and power tools safely. Additionally, good vision and hearing are essential for observing construction activities, communicating with crew members, and identifying potential safety hazards. The ability to work at heights and in confined spaces may also be necessary, requiring balance and coordination. Overall, Foremen must maintain a high level of physical stamina and adaptability to effectively oversee construction projects.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
Must be willing to travel within the State of Texas as needed, overnight or out of town stay may be required up to 2 weeks as needed.
