What does a great Machine Learning Analyst do?
Should be able to work with Data Scientists and Data Engineers to scale and deploy machine learning models in production for large scale data sets. Collaborate with product and engineering teams, develop statistical insights, and build machine learning products for various Travelport business problems. Should be able to communicate and present the findings to various business stakeholders and senior management.
Responsibilities include:
- Understand, analyze various data sets in the Machine Learning (ML) platform, design, and report on A/B tests for new and modified ML algorithms
- Execute analytical experiments methodically to help solve various business problems and make an impact in the business
- Work with other colleagues in the data science team to review the results and engage in developing and deploying machine learning models using agile practices
- Work with big data and engage in data mining and exploratory analyses on large datasets
- Hands-on in data wrangling, which involves cleaning and organizing data via statistics and programming
- Partner with data engineering teams to build, scale and deploy data and machine learning products in production
Who we are looking for in this role:
- MS degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or any related field
- 1-2 years of experience working in data science programs
- Experience with programming languages and tools for data science like R, Python, Spark Scala, SQL
- Familiarity with data visualization tools for presentation of analytical findings
- Familiarity with various data frameworks like Hadoop and Spark
- Strong mathematical and statistical knowledge in clustering, regression, and probability distributions
- Proficient in statistical analysis, and data mining
- Good understanding of the various methods to clean, organize, and transform data
- Able to remain as an efficient and analytical problem solver even when faced with challenges
- Demonstrate a keen interest and passion for statistical analysis
- Motivated to pick up and practice new techniques and technologies in machine learning
- Possess forward-thinking orientation and sensitive to business needs when generating insights from the data
- Experience processing, filtering, and analyzing with large quantities of data (Millions to Billions of rows)
- Comfortable working in a dynamic environment with several ongoing concurrent projects

Salary Target/Range: $65,000-$75,000
The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.
