Position Overview

The Computational Biologist will work closely with scientists and other computational biologists to analyze NGS data and apply machine learning methods to solve exciting and challenging biology problems.

Job Responsibilities: Development and maintenance of computational pipelines to analyze NGS data, including whole genome sequencing, targeted sequencing, and bulk/single cell RNA-seq

Implement and apply machine learning methods to predict optimal therapeutics designs

Responsible for statistical aspects of study/experiment design, data analysis, visualization, and data quality assurance

Follows best practices for developing and maintaining reproducible bioinformatics pipelines and analyses including but not limited to extensive documentation, source code versioning/management using git, using reproducible compute environment such as Docker etc.

Skils and Qualifications: Must be highly motivated and goal-oriented

Ph.D. in Computational Biology, Computer Science, or a related discipline

2+ years of experience in analyzing NGS data for biomedical research, preferably with applications in gene editing and immunology

Solid experience in statistics and/or machine learning

Proficient in R, bash script and/or python, Unix/Linux/cloud environment and SQL query language

Experience with off-target effect analysis is a plus

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

Additional Requirements:

Full time in-person work is necessary for our laboratory-based positions. We work in facilities that require that all individuals working on-site are vaccinated for COVID-19. Position Title and Salary will be commensurate with Experience
