The Systems Administrator will provide support for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems and servers. Installation of hardware and software, and participate in research and development to continuously improve and keep up with the IT business needs of their organization.

System administrators also actively resolve problems and issues with computer and server systems to limit work disruptions within the company.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems, network servers, and virtualization Install and upgrade computer components and software, manage virtual servers, and integrate automation processes Troubleshoot hardware and software errors by running diagnostics, documenting problems and resolutions, prioritizing problems, and assessing impact of issues Provide documentation and technical specifications to IT staff for planning and implementing new or upgrades of IT infrastructure Perform or delegate regular backup operations and implement appropriate processes for data protection, disaster recovery, and failover procedures Lead desktop and helpdesk support efforts, making sure all desktop applications, workstations, and related equipment problems are resolved in a timely manner with limited disruptions Responsible for capacity, storage planning, and database performance Microsoft 365 experience; creating users, setting up groups (shared & distribution), troubleshooting issues within 365, experience with azure AD connect, Azure AD and Teams

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Associate or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, System Administration, or a closely related field, or equivalent experience required 3-5 years of database, network administration, or system administration experience Working knowledge of virtualization, VMWare, or equivalent Strong knowledge of systems and networking software, hardware, and networking protocols Knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems and desktop applications, server backups, printers, Scan guns, remote access and remote control software and data cabling* Experience with scripting and automation tools A proven track record of developing and implementing IT strategy and plans Prior service desk experience Strong knowledge of implementing and effectively developing helpdesk and IT operations best practices, including expert knowledge of security, storage, data protection, and disaster recovery protocols Understanding of customer service software, local area networks (wired and wireless) file, print and email servers, video conferencing and voice systems Project management experience a plus

LANGUAGE SKILLS

English Ability to analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, and technical procedures. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from all levels of the company's user base.

REASONING ABILITY Ability to analyze and solve problems, think logically and creatively, follow established procedures, with the commitment to see the problem through to resolution. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Strong ability to prioritize a workload with multiple tasks/demands and displays a professional competence to achieve completion of assigned tasks within specified time periods with a high degree of accuracy. Effective management of Service Desk ticket queues. Self-motivated, taking a proactive initiative to fix problems that require resolution.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS System administration and IT certifications in Linux, Microsoft, or other network related fields are a plus A+ or MCP (Microsoft Certified Professional) certifications preferred but not required
