Senior Public Relations Specialist

Award-winning PR & Digital Media Agency is seeking a full-time Senior Public Relations Specialist with four to five years of experience at a marketing, advertising and/or PR agency or client-side marketing/advertising/PR department for our home office. Please note, our offices are currently located in Millenium Tower in Addison, but we’re MOVING to Old East Dallas in May! Champion operates on a Hybrid schedule – 3 days in-office and 2 days WFH. New hires will be required to follow their team’s regular in-office schedule, determined by their respective team leads and supervisors. We will continue to operate on a Hybrid schedule from the new office.
Champion is looking for a Senior Public Relations Specialist who can:
Mentor PR Interns and Specialists
Develop campaign strategies that align with clients’ overarching business objectives, mission and pillar brand messages
Set and achieve program goals in line with client KPIs
Confidently meet with new clients to fully understand their brand and write media materials in their brand voice
Effectively delegate tasks among PR team members
Develop content strategies, develop timely topics and draft content (blogs, white papers, byline articles)
Successfully lead client meetings as directed
Present research-based “big ideas” to clients
Leverage existing relationships with media contacts to drive client coverage
Secure a steady cadence of coverage across media categories, including: national and trade outlets (may include thought leadership bylined articles), national and local broadcast, in-studio or live remote morning shows, podcasts and local press in priority markets, including DFW and Southern California
Maintain strong relationships with media contacts, including: morning show producers, editors/reporters at industry trades and reporters in priority markets
Take initiative on tasks without direction from supervisor
Create PR case studies for business development
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree
4-5 years of PR experience
Agency experience is a plus
Lifestyle, broadcast, business and/or restaurant trade media contacts and relationships
Southern California contacts a plus
The ideal candidate has a college degree in marketing, communications, journalism or related discipline; is a team player who is also comfortable working with limited supervision; has four to five years of experience; has outstanding written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills; and is energetic, organized, detail-oriented and self-motivated.
