Whitman, Requardt & Associates WRA, a top 120 ENR firm, is seeking a qualified candidate to fill a position for a construction management opening for CPM Construction Scheduling and Construction Cost Estimating and with expertise working in industry-standard construction management software and familiar with transportation (highways, bridges and building facilities) as well as underground utility infrastructure.
Qualifications/Requirements:
Minimum fifteen (15) years of specific construction management and/or construction general contracting experience on assorted construction project types. Previous construction cost estimating for a contractor is a plus.
Experience as Consultant Construction Scheduler, Cost Estimator and/or Project Controls Analyst on small to large interstate construction projects: $30M to $300M range
Must have a Bachelor’s Degree- Civil Engineering
Must be a registered PE (TX) and/or a certified CCM
Must have Construction Scheduling experience using Primavera P6. Certification as a Planning and Scheduling Professional (PSP) is a plus.
Experience with various DOT construction software and project controls software- e.g. TXDOT Inspection and Materials Management System (I2MS), ProjectWise, SharePoint, Primavera Unifier, Autodesk Build, SiteManager, etc.
Excellent Communication Skills required for establishing and maintaining relationships with clients
Experience reviewing of construction project plans and specifications to ensure they contain a reasonable schedule of prices, quantities, and units of measurement required.
Experience with bid/pricing justifications and analysis.
Skillsets required- Must be proficient in the use of construction cost estimating and scheduling software including: Quantity Take-off and Bid Development in Industry-Standard Cost Estimating Platforms
Development of Preliminary Cost Estimates During Various Design Phases
Development of Independent Cost Estimates (ICE or IGCE)
Development and Review of Cost Loaded Schedules
Detailed Bid Analysis and Award Recommendations to Owners
Preliminary Construction Schedule Development During Design Phase
Development of Detailed Construction Phase Schedules
Development of Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) for Major Work Activities
ICPM Development & Review
Monthly Schedule Updates and Written Narrative Reports
Forensic Schedule Analysis for Claims Support
Time Impact Analysis (TIAs)
Good Communication Skills
Excellent Technical Writing Skills required for preparing: Client Communication between Client and Contractor
Change Order analyses, rebuttals, approvals, and technical write-ups/independent cost estimates (IGE)
Monthly progress updates to Client/Owner
Construction Schedule Updates
Quality Control/Quality Assurance Updates
Construction Budget Reports
Technical Proposals & Interviews
Design and Design Change Coordination
Meeting Agendas and Minutes
Ability to deliver oral presentations related to scheduling interpretation, cost estimating, and/or dispute resolution negotiations a plus.
Excellent computer software skills required (Microsoft Word & Excel) for completing reports, spreadsheets and related project documentation or project controls utilizing eConstruction web-based, file share technologies
