Job Location
Onsite/Hybrid, San Diego - This position allows a hybrid work structure, under which employees can work remotely for up to 2 days per week, between Tuesday and Thursday, after completing a probationary period and based on demands of specific tasks. Working from the office is encouraged for some tasks that require a high degree of collaboration.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead full-cycle software development, from architecture design to deployment
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, ensuring seamless integration into our Systems-of-Systems
Contribute to the development and refinement of internal software processes and standards
Mentor junior engineers and interns, providing guidance and support in their professional development
Manage project segments, ensuring timely delivery and quality standards
Drive innovation in software processes and standards, contributing to strategic decisions
Provide support at customer sites and participate in test and evaluation activities
Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in computer science or related STEM field
10+ years of full stack software development experience
Proficiency in front-end frameworks (e.g., Vue.js) and current JavaScript standards (e.g., ES2021)
Expertise in designing software systems
Experience with databases (e.g., Redis)
Experience with data structures
Experience in build systems (e.g., Pants, Bazel)
Experience with package management tools (e.g., pip, npm)
Experience with version control, continuous integration, and continuous delivery concepts
Strong experience with Python or other programming languages
Strong proficiency in developing API interfaces
Proficiency in Git for configuration management and version control
US Citizenship and ability to obtain/maintain a DoD security clearance
Preferred Qualifications: Production experience with Docker and Kubernetes
Networking experience
Experience with Tactical Datalinks
Experience with automation tools (e.g., Ansible)
Experience with geospatial frameworks
Strong knowledge of cybersecurity best practices and standards
Experience in DevOps methodologies and practices
Advanced STEM degree or active DoD clearance
Physical Requirements: Must be able to sit or stand for 1 hour at a time
Must be able to operate a computer

At GALT Aerospace, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as one grows and develops within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $140,000-$180,000, and a specific candidate's base pay will depend on their skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
