About Us:
Established in 2001, Guidera O’Connor (GO) is a privately owned and respected design and construct contractor and have a successful track record delivering water and wastewater treatment projects to the Australian Water Industry. Our clients include SA Water, Water Corporation, Sydney Water and SEQ Water.
Due to growth, we are seeking expressions of interest from Mechanical Project Engineers who seek meaningful work in the water and wastewater industry.
As the Project Engineer - Mechanical, you will be responsible for assisting the Project Manager to deliver the project in a safe and timely manner and in accordance with contract documentation, with a focus on the Mechanical components of the project. The role includes a combination of Mechanical design work, procurement, site and subcontractor management, testing and commissioning, and completion of documentation.
More specifically you will:
Assist the Project Manager to deliver projects in a safe and environmentally sound manner
Ensure that the project is constructed in accordance with contract and legislative requirements
Carry out Mechanical design activities for the project, as required
Complete all project related Mechanical activities in a timely manner
Procure Mechanical equipment at competitive prices to meet project requirements
Assist the Project Manager in the preparation of all project documentation
Develop and maintain close working relationships with all stakeholders
Maintain and manage Quality Assurance requirements throughout the project
To be successful in this role you will have:
Experience as a Project Engineer specifically in the water and wastewater industry
A relevant qualification in Mechanical Engineering
Strong knowledge of the construction industry coupled with highly developed engineering skills
An ability to manage competing priorities and meet strict deadlines
An ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with all relevant stakeholders
