Engineering Manager - Infrastructure

We are looking for an Engineering Manager to lead our Infrastructure and Provisioning team. The team and the role are responsible for the design, development, deployment and operation of our Kubernetes and public cloud infrastructure, as well as our internal tooling, build, and testing systems.
The Provisioning Infrastructure roadmap cover a broad area and includes development of our customer-facing deployment tooling; launching of our managed infrastructure offerings; our internal dev, test, demo, and production environments and the tools and systems to manage and monitor them;
As Engineering Manager for this team, you will lead, develop and grow a team of talented engineers to meet Snorkel AI’s growth goals. You will work cross functionally with other engineering teams to extend our, with product management and customers to deeply understand and build for customer and market needs, and with GTM partners to help us market, sell and support Snorkel AI offerings to help customers be successful.
Primary responsibilities
Manage, develop, and grow a talented team of infrastructure, operations, deployment, and cloud engineers
Work with the rest of our product, engineering and research teams to help design and lead the implementation of our internal systems to support the growth of the company
Collaborate with product management, field team members, and customers to understand and build the roadmap for product and process improvements to meet our customers’ needs around deployment, supportability
Directly contribute to deliver parts of the roadmap alongside the team
Actively contribute to Snorkel’s engineering culture through mentorship, open communication, user empathy, advocacy of strong engineering practices, and more
Preferred qualifications
Successful candidates will have most of the following, but these should be viewed as guidelines, not hard requirements:
Degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience
6+ years of professional experience developing systems and process to provision enterprise software in cloud and on-premise environments
2+ years of engineering management experience
Experience with architecting and developing software to enterprise-grade requirements, particularly with respect to supportability, security, governance, and manageability
Experience at high-growth technology startups
Strong background building and deploying with Kubernetes and Helm
Strong background managing and deploying on AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
Background in managing internal development systems like CI/CD, performance and load testing infrastructure, deployment tooling
Familiarity with operations and devops systems and processes
Experience developing and mentoring engineers
