THE POSITION

Cybersecurity is a rapidly changing, and critical role in our modern technical world. All of the various functions of security generate massive amounts of data every second, and this data can be used to better inform our decision making and help us better secure the organization. Cybersecurity Insights and Analytics aims to simplify the reporting process by operationalizing this data and enabling teams to be much more data driven through interactive dashboards and strong key performance indicators. Additionally, we are looking to expand our use of data in cybersecurity through risk-based metrics and key risk indicators to help communicate the story of cyber-risk to senior leaders and the board of directors at FanDuel. These metrics will be used to measure and monitor trends in cyber risk, and present insights, recommendations and opportunities to reduce risk across the company.

THE GAME PLAN

Everyone on our team has a part to play

Partner with teams across CSD to operationalize their data and deliver interactive dashboards and automated metrics to provide improved visibility into security

Maturing cybersecurity risk metrics, Key Risk Indicators, to better measure and quantify cyber risk across the organization

Automate data pipelines to eliminate manual effort spent gathering data and metrics and provide near real-time analytics

Gather meaningful insights from the data to better inform strategic decision-making

Identify opportunities to collect additional security data that can be leveraged, as well as drive improvement in quality of existing data

Identify opportunity to leverage machine learning improve operational processes in CSD and better leverage the massive amounts of data we have at our disposal

Develop data visualizations to best communicate stories in the data and explain security to all kinds of different audiences, both technical and non-technical

Identify opportunities to further integrate datasets to provide a more cohesive view of security

THE STATS

What we're looking for in our next teammate

3-4 years experience of data analysis or equivalent experience (university included)

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Data Analytics, or a related field

Experience with Python for data wrangling, analysis, and visualization, leveraging libraries such as Pandas and NumPy

Experience with PowerBI, Tableau, or another comparable data visualization tool to build interactive dashboards

Familiarity with FAIR methodology and basic fundamentals of probability and statistics

Familiarity with the NIST Cybersecurity Framework is a plus

Must be able to effectively communicate to various types of audiences

Ability to think critically, solve problems, make decisions and build trust across the organization

Strong logic and reason along with problem solving skills.

Ability to work independently.
