Minimum Requirements
Education and Experience
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in Business, Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum 7 years of related work experience required, and 3 years supervisory experience.
Any equivalent combination of certifications, education, or experience that provides the required skills, knowledge, and abilities for the position.
Licenses, Registration, and Certifications
Must be able to possess and maintain a valid Class 'R' Colorado driver's license and have a satisfactory driving record.
Job Description
Position Summary
Fleet Support Manager is responsible for overseeing Fleet Service operations to support the needs of Denver Water by understanding the nature and scope of work being performed in the function. Ability to forecast and strategically develop budgeting, scheduling, and training in alignment with Denver Water.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position has formal supervisory responsibilities over other employees.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Manage and monitor all activities, provide, or recommend training, and communicates with staff, supervisors, and customers regarding upcoming events and fleet materials needed.
Manage and maintain accurate records and assumes responsibility for any fleet parts inventory discrepancy.
Direct the activity of skilled mechanics and personnel engaged in the repair and maintenance of vehicles and equipment, motor pool operation, parts, and fuel inventory.
Ensure the departmental Safety program is carried out and training in the standard job methods is provided.
Prepare and manage annual operations and maintenance, vehicle, and equipment replacement budgets.
Manage preventative maintenance program including forecasting, scheduling, and on-time purchasing of parts for the units serviced.
Manage vehicle utilization review process annually and review vehicle duty relative to appropriateness of assignment.
Administer the Fleet Management Software System, associated functions, and evaluate hardware and software as needed.
Administer and oversee contracts to procure all purchases and materials, supplies, and equipment.
Perform related work as required.
