Job Description Job Description Trusts and Estates Law Practice has an opening for a Full-Time Associate Attorney. We are looking for a self-motivated attorney to join our firm. This position will focus on matters related to Conservatorships, Estate Planning, Public Benefits Planning, and Estate Administration. The ideal candidate will have knowledge and experience with Conservatorships, can work autonomously, and is seeking an integral role with opportunities to grow with the firm.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Communicate with clients to identify legal needs and concerns
• Independently manage Conservatorship and Estate Planning matters from start to finish
• Prepare Petitions and other court-related documents
• Make court appearances
• Advise clients on issues regarding Conservatorships, Estate Planning and Public Benefits Planning
• Draft comprehensive estate plans, including Revocable Living Trusts, Special Needs Trusts, Wills,
Durable Powers of Attorney, Health Care Directives, and property transfer documents
• Participate in business social activities and presentations that generate new clients and/or more
legal work for the firm
• Perform administrative functions related to case management
Minimum Qualifications:• Licensed to practice in California; Good standing with the State Bar
• Demonstrated client relationship skills including the ability to lead in-person client meetings
• Ability to conduct legal research, analyze case law, and stay up-to-date with changing laws
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Typing proficiency of 50+ wpm
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
• Strong work ethic
Highly desirable skills and experience that will set you apart from other applicants:
• Experience with Conservatorships, Estate Planning, Trust Administration, Probate, Special Needs
Trusts, and Public Benefits Planning
• Experience with AbacusLaw software
• Experience with Lawgic software
Compensation: Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.
