THE POSITION

Our roster has an opening with your name on it

Our Core Tools Vertical provides core internal tools and integrations for Fraud Prevention, Customer Support Operations, VIP Management and Responsible Gaming Operations. Basically, we play a role in multiple critical areas of FanDuel business. Some of the technologies we use are Java, Python, Terraform on AWS (K8s, EKS, Lambdas, RDS Aurora, SNS, SQS).

You will be leading a new team specifically working on our proactive Fraud Prevention service. Our remit is to address major security issues affecting our products and help us with identity verification and payment authorization. We employ machine learning systems with knowledge from around 34,000 sites and applications around the world to provide us with highly accurate scores on Payment Protection and Account Defense with the goal of enabling us to reduce fraud by 80% or better.

As a Software Engineering Manager at FanDuel, you can develop your skills and experience as the manager of an Agile software engineering team. You will directly manage a team of Engineers and be accountable for the customer experience, project prioritization, software quality, and system maintenance of the services you own. You set the example for our values and help engineers grow by encouraging them to contribute to cross-team technical discussions, supporting their ideas, and empowering them to make decisions. Most of all, you are accountable for the experience, management, and development of the Engineers that report to you.

THE GAME PLAN

Everyone on our team has a part to play

• Manage, identify, and provide opportunities for Software Engineers, while helping them progress in their careers.

• Work with Senior Engineers to deliver a technical vision with an eye on for Customer satisfaction and security.

• Proactively identify technology gaps and opportunities, mitigate risks created through complexity (technical and regulatory).

• Work with your Product partner to build, prioritize & deliver your teams’ roadmap, communicating blockers and progress throughout the project lifecycle.

• Measure, own and drive predictability through Operational Excellence and transparency through data and KPIs.

• Own your software. You build it and you run it. Help guide your team to deliver whilst providing appropriate support for our users.

• Help scope and define new solutions to problems while influencing the roadmap and ensuring we delivery truly viable features and Products.

• Look after the health & wellbeing of your team.

• Our Tech Stack includes Java, Python, Linux, AWS & K8s.
