This role is fully onsite, Monday - Friday.
Position Overview for the Security Cloud Engineer: Implement, manage, maintain, improve, and troubleshoot various security systems such as Data Loss Prevention (DLP), Defender Endpoint Protection, Azure security solutions, and data security/auditing platforms.
Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support the County's objective of enhancing security and transitioning to cloud-based services.
Analyze and audit systems, software, processes, implementations, and environments to ensure compliance with policies, regulations, and security best practices.
Design optimal security architectures for Azure Cloud Solutions, Data, and Storage.
Automate processes within the security team when necessary.
Collaborate with other system architects and application teams to develop secure solutions.
Recommend and implement improvements and enhancements based on audit findings in cooperation with individuals and teams.
Required Skills for the Security Cloud Engineer: Previous hands-on experience with various Microsoft Cloud Products.
Professional background in cloud security or engineering, particularly with public cloud providers like AWS or Azure.
Proficiency in understanding network architecture.
Strong skills in time management, reporting, and communication.
Bachelor's degree in information systems, information security, computer science, engineering, or a related technical field with at least 4 years of experience in information security; alternatively, 8 or more years of experience in information security without a degree.
Experience deploying policies for servers and networks using Intune.
Possesses a foundational understanding of security and can identify areas for enhancement in different network designs and security tools.
Hands-on deployment and management experience with Microsoft Cloud products such as Microsoft DLP, Defender for Cloud, Intune, and Defender for Servers.
Familiarity with tools such as vulnerability management and email gateway protection.
Knowledge of emerging enterprise-level IT and cybersecurity technologies.
