Senior Cloud Engineer
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Cloud Platform Engineer or Sr Software Engineer with Cloud experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cloud technologies, infrastructure design, and deployment strategies. This role will help maintain our cloud infrastructure to ensure scalability, reliability, and security.
This position is 100% remote, Monday-Friday 8am- 5pm, EST.
Senior Cloud Engineer Responsibilities
Design, build, and deploy scalable cloud infrastructure solutions using industry best practices
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand infrastructure requirements and develop solutions that meet business needs.
Implement automation and orchestration tools to streamline deployment processes and improve operational efficiency.
Monitor system performance and reliability, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions to optimize performance.
Prepare technical design specifications based on functional requirements and analysis documents
Assist with triage and resolution of issues from customers and internal users
Provide rotation on-call support, triage, postmortem.
Ensure security best practices are implemented throughout the cloud infrastructure, including data encryption, access controls, and vulnerability management.
Stay current with emerging cloud technologies and best practices, and make recommendations for continuous improvement.
Senior Cloud Engineer Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field required.
5 plus years of experience required.
5 plus years of experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, or Azure.
Experience with Observability tools (Datadog or similar) and monitoring production workloads in the Cloud.
Experience with performance and load testing tools (Grafana K6, or similar) and defining, running such tests.
Proficiency in infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes (EKS, ECS, Fargate, or similar).
Hands-on experience supporting K8S-based services.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, etc) and DevOps practices.
Knowledge of networking concepts and protocols.
Development experience in needed language or technology (Java, Spring Boot, REST, JSON/XML, SQL/NoSQL) to be able to maintain and enhance existing micro-services.
Hands on experience in designing, developing and successful deployment of large-scale projects from end-to-end.
Hands on experience in following the iterative and agile SDLC.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or Google Professional Cloud Architect.
Salary: $60-$70/hr. (DOE)
