Campaign Director

Summary/Objective:
The Campaign Director is a senior member of Philadelphia Ballet's Advancement Department and is the principal administrator of Building Joy - The Campaign for Philadelphia Ballet. Together with the Chief Advancement Officer, and the Senior Director, Development, the Campaign Director will help create and oversee the implementation of the strategy for the campaign, including extensive work with the Campaign Committee, Ballet staff and Board leadership. The Campaign Director is a frontline fundraiser and will manage a portfolio 50 to 74 donors and prospects. The role is responsible for raising blended capital, endowment, and special gifts from an assigned portfolio of individual donors and prospects at the $25,000 and higher levels, principally for Philadelphia Ballet's multimillion dollar campaign to create the 58,000 sf Philadelphia Ballet Center for Dance. The Campaign Director builds individual relationships with donors and prospects on behalf of Philadelphia Ballet, actively solicits philanthropic gifts, is responsible for achieving annual financial targets, and continually identifies, researches, screens, rates, and cultivates existing and new prospects to give at the major gifts level. As a member of the Advancement Department, which comprises Marketing and Development staff. This position reports to the Chief Advancement Officer, and interacts regularly with the Executive Director, Sr. Director of Development, and Director, Special Events. It supervises the role of Major Gifts Officer/Campaign.
Essential Functions:
Building Joy - The Campaign for Philadelphia Ballet
Serve as a key fundraiser for Philadelphia Ballet's multimillion campaign to create the 58,000 sf Philadelphia Ballet Center for Dance on North Broad Street (as announced in August 2022).
Participate in campaign strategy development, donor and prospect research and identification, strategic campaign planning, execution of campaign briefings and events, and campaign solicitations.
Collaborate effectively with colleagues from across the Development Department and the organization to execute clear and comprehensive campaign giving plans.
Track assigned campaign performance in Tessitura and produce regular financial, moves management, prospect research and portfolio metrics reporting for interdepartmental review.
Coordinate and deliver major gifts donor benefits supporters of the expansion campaign and the Excellence Fund.
Maintain a targeted portfolio of80-100 donor households currently giving or qualified to give at the $10,000 towards the Philadelphia Ballet's expansion campaign and Excellence Fund, as well as the annual support from these donors. Through high-touch, individualized cultivation and stewardship, secure renewed and increased support from these donors and build their relationships with Philadelphia Ballet, its School and its artists.
Collaborate with the Ballet's other frontline fundraisers to ensure consistent, comprehensive, donor-driven strategies for cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
Help identify, with support from the Executive Director, Board, and Chief Advancement Officer, Trustee prospects for the Philadelphia Ballet Board.
Collaborate with the Ballet's Research staff to identify and qualify prospects to pipeline for the expansion campaign and the Excellent Fund. Develop a comprehensive prospect pipeline and maintain accurate moves management progress reporting in Tessitura to acquire new major donors.
In collaboration with Special Events staff, leverage Advancement events to cultivate and steward major donors and prospects, incorporating donor-focused messaging, segmentation, and targeted individual follow-up.
Track assigned portfolio performance in Tessitura and produce regular financial, moves management, prospect research and portfolio metrics reporting for interdepartmental review.
General Work performance duty on a rotating schedule and participate in Advancement activities, as required.
Perform additional duties as required by Philadelphia Ballet.
Supervisory Responsibility: Major Gifts Officer/Campaign
Expected Hours of Work: Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday 9:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
Travel: Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out of the area travel and overnight may be expected.
Required Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent relevant experience is required.
Minimum 5 to 7 years' relevant experience in individual giving major gifts role in non-profit is required,
Strong working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint is required.
Experience working with Tessitura or another fundraising database program (i.e. Raiser's Edge, Salesforce, Millennium)
Required Skills and Competencies: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Good understanding of fundraising, donor cultivation and moves management principles and best practices.
Ability to manage multiple donor relationships simultaneously, supported by strong planning and organizational skills and superior attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
Self-motivated self-starter with a goal achievement orientation.
Establish and maintain effective and productive working relationships within a diverse and multicultural environment
