Job Summary The Marketing and Communications Assistant Director will develop and execute marketingand communications campaigns and initiatives for the Jacksonville University Collegeof Law. This is a highly collaborative role that will work in tandem with enrollmentmarketing and admissions, advancement, communication, and alumni engagement teams,as well as college leadership and faculty to raise the profile of the College of Law.This position is a member of the enrollment marketing team and participates in allteam meetings, strategy sessions, and professional development with this group inaddition to that presented in the College of Law and receives direction on that teamfrom the Director of Enrollment Communications. This position will serve and supportall marketing and communications efforts including, but not limited to email, publicrelations and news, digital marketing, print marketing, search engine optimization,website design, graphic design, inventory ordering and vendor relations/management,and management/selling of “swag” inventory.

Supervisory Responsibilities Supervision of student and temporary workers as necessary
Duties/Responsibilities Admissions Communications Serve as member of the enrollment marketing and admissions team representing the Collegeof Law
Receive direction and support from the Director of Enrollment Communications
Support admissions with communication needs such as: Plan enrollment marketing campaigns using social media, website updates, print piecesand other tools as time to time may be required by the enrollment marketing team orDirector Communications
New student email campaigns using leads
Current student email campaigns
Transactional emails for current and future students
Designing, ordering and organizing materials for tables and events
Collaborate on event planning needs
Public relations needs:
Press Releases
Media Pitches
JU News Hub articles
Media Interview assistance
Publication in new media, local and otherwise
Create and send monthly College of Law newsletter
Marketing Support Plan marketing campaigns that use tactics such as: Digital marketing (Examples include Facebook, Instagram, Search, Display, and Adroll)
Website updates/new web page designs
Print pieces such as marketing booklets, fold-outs, flyers, and postcards
City brand recognition including light post flags, billboards, and flyers
Assistance with video projects such as student testimonial, new location coverage,event coverage, etc.
Social Media: Plan and execute organic social media content on College of Law social channels including,but not limited to, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube
Supervise and approve work from Social Media and Marketing Student Worker
Advancement Initiatives Create needed resources and /or donor proposals to help Major Gift Officer fundraisefor the college Write and create email campaigns
Design and write proposals
Design and write PowerPoint decks
Write and design large-scale storytelling print pieces such as the "State of the Collegeof Law" booklet
Collaborate with editorial services on video projects including (scripts, schedulingetc.)
Assist with social media and other needs related to university-wide fundraising campaignssuch as Dolphin Dash or Future Made
Assist with planning and marketing of College or University-wide volunteer opportunitiesincluding Charter Day or Pro Bono Month
Alumni Engagement Email campaigns to keep the College of Law affinity group engaged
Collaborate on event planning needs for this affinity group such as collateral, brandingand logistics
Required Skills/Abilities Be an excellent communicator who can draft and edit communications for multiple channels,including print, website, and social media
Have a thorough understanding of digital marketing and communication principles andtechniques, including advertising, SEO, and analytics
Maintain an expert-level of proficiency with digital and print content developmentand management tools
Be able to work collaboratively with all members of the University such as the StrategicOperations Division and faculty throughout the University
Social media management tools expertise such as Falcon, Hootsuite or Meltwater
Digital marketing buying expertise such as advertising managers
Adobe software such as Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator
Education, Certificates, Licenses, & Experience Minimum Education Requirement: Bachelor’s degree in closely related field such as marketing, communications, graphicdesign, or business
Minimum Work Experience: Experience in the marketing, communications, and/or graphic design industry. Experiencecan include internships and career experience. At least one year of career versusinternship experience is required.
Physical Requirements Examples:
Must be able to lift and carry equipment and supplies weighing up to 20 pounds.
Must be able to bend, stoop, and reach.
Manual dexterity to efficiently operate a computer keyboard and other business machines.
Adequate hearing to communicate effectively in person and by phone.
