About the role:

This role manages projects of all sizes and scopes from small projects involving a few people to company-wide initiatives. Managing this varying degree of projects requires an ever-changing response customized to the situation and stakeholders.

Plans, organizes, and executes logistical support for company-wide initiatives. Partners with stakeholders across company, both at store and support office levels, to deliver positive results. Drives process success through innovative ideas, clear communication, and active collaboration. This is a management position. You are responsible for providing leadership in line with company values and promoting a positive and progressive work environment in alignment with our company mission, vision values and policies.

Position Responsibilities:

Manages projects with diverse stakeholders including short-term projects, long-term programs, and enterprise level strategic initiatives.

Reviews and recommends improvements to existing projects and programs to mitigate risk and increase efficiency. Assists with validating prospective issues with stakeholders, providing technical and procedural guidance regarding remediation of these issues, and tracking progress of remediation activities until closed.

Identifies areas of concern and provides solutions within acceptable risk tolerances.

Identifies, builds, and measures key performance metrics and quality control measures, including compliance, audit, efficiency and adherence to state and federal laws. Reports on these metrics to stakeholders across company.

Develops and maintains resources including documentation, policies, processes, procedures, communications, training guides and tools for project implementation and improvement.

Analyses and collects data to better understand risks, concerns and outcomes of decisions that affect company.

Facilitates, develops and leads crisis management solutions in coordination with program manager and director.

Coordinate crisis triage responses with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure smooth and rapid execution

Revise, develop and implement incident response processes and protocols to strengthen New Seasons Market’s ability to effectively respond to acute incidents

Supports broader Risk Team work as priorities shift and urgent work takes precedence

Complies with federal, state, and local legal regulations by studying existing and new regulations; anticipating regulations; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on necessary actions.

Maintains good relationships with government agencies, food-safety industry providers and other key players.

Tools and Equipment Used (not all inclusive): This position works with standard office equipment. May be required to use the following tools and equipment when working in stores or offsite; baler, hand truck, POS, industrial kitchen equipment (i.e. blast chiller, grill, knives/blades, oven, grills, scales, etc.) and basic housekeeping / janitorial items.

This position works consistently at a light work level and may be asked to work on occasion at a medium or heavy work level when supporting stores or other offsite events. Frequently required to sit, walk, reach and grasp. Occasionally required to be on feet with a mix of standing and walking throughout shift.Up to occasionally, dependent on location, required to climb stairs, step stool and /or ladders.

Performs other tasks and duties as assigned.

What you Bring as a Candidate:

Minimum of 4 years of experience in strategic-level role, emphasizing non-direct leadership, change management, and process improvement required.

Previous food and/or grocery specific industry experience preferred. Experience in a multi-unit, high growth retail or similar environment required.

Knowledge of risk management programs and experience in a collaborative environment improving processes and systems required.

Knowledge of food safety, quality assurance, work safety, claims, permits and licensing, crisis management, compliance, and security preferred.

Previous supervisory or management level experience required.

Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration Management, pre-law, or related fields preferred, however relevant work experience in lieu of formal education is acceptable.

High-level proficiency with MS Office, specifically excel, required. Working knowledge of project management software programs / platforms or other retail specific software highly preferred. Skills to learn new computer programs and systems.

Excellent interpersonal skills, including tact and diplomacy, to collaborate, negotiate and communicate effectively and professionally with cross-functional partners at all levels in the company.

Demonstrated leadership skills with problem-solving, project management and execution of initiatives across multiple locations and regions.

Proven experience driving and executing strategic initiatives, policies, programs and projects that achieve measurable business results.

Physical and Environmental Work Space: Work occurs in office, a variety of off-site environments and in a grocery store environment which includes surfaces that can be wet and slippery, moderate noise level, and temperature extremes in controlled environments in the cooler and freezer, and depending on location, working outside in all temperatures. There may be exposure to certain allergens and / or chemicals.
