Information Security Specialist

The Information Security Office provides the following services: development of security policies and standards, security and privacy training and outreach, security compliance reviews, and security incident reporting and handling coordination, security incident investigation and migration, daily monitoring of security dashboards. The security office staff attends Statewide Information Security Officer meetings and participates in Statewide Security Workgroups. ISO team supports various security management and control tools in collaboration with OSI's information technology office.
Under the general direction of the Information Security Officer (ISO), the Information Technology Specialist II serves as the Office's subject matter expert and lead in the areas of Information Security, Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery coordination, and emergency preparedness. The ITS II will independently, and as part of a team, perform in-depth security assessments on the OSI infrastructure, identifying risks and providing recommendations to the OSI Security Team for mitigation and will support security incident management; accepting and resolving events.
The incumbent will invest in personal development through continuous education to maintain position-related knowledge in the information security and disaster recovery fields. The incumbent will also focus on promoting and advocating the foundational information security principles of confidentiality, integrity, and availability throughout OSI.

Desirable Qualifications In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate: Bachelor's degree or higher in Information Security, Network Administration, System Development, or other relevant fields is highly desirable.
Current Information Security/Cyber Security Certification(s) such as Security+, CISSP, CISM, or CISA is highly desirable.
Knowledge and Experience in Privacy/Risk Management (PRM) processes and procedures.
Experience in Cybersecurity, Risk Management, and using GRC tools.
Advanced knowledge of information security principles, policies, standards, and procedures.
Knowledge of IT Infrastructure principles and best practices.
Experience in working Disaster Recovery (DR) and Business Continuity
Experience in handling Incident response
