Description
YOUR DAY TO DAY:
Design and implement control systems for full motion ground station antennas,
focusing on high precision and reliability.
Develop and optimize PID control loops for various motion control applications.
Work with brushless DC motors and servo drives to achieve desired motion
control performance.
Design electrical and control system architecture for new and existing products.
Develop and debug embedded C software for microcontrollers (PIC) and ARM
core microprocessors.
Knowledge of embedded communications protocols (i.e. UART, SPI, I2C, etc.).
Familiarity with Linux based operating systems.
Familiarity with Yocto/OpenEmbedded framework for Embedded Linux operating system creation and modification is preferred.
Knowledge of Ethernet protocols and switch design.
Familiarity with CAN bus architecture and design.
Understanding of low voltage two and three phase power and distribution.
Ability to troubleshoot/debug electro-mechanical and software systems.
Basic understanding of RF components (such as feeds, high power amplifiers, RF over fiber, demodulators) is preferred.
Understanding of GPS/GNSS and IEEE1588 (Precision Time Protocol) for precision timing applications.
Familiarity with bench top equipment such as power supplies, oscilloscopes, serial analyzers.
Conduct system modeling, simulation, and analysis to predict system performance.
Develop and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, testing procedures and user manuals.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and meet project timelines.
YOU ARE THE RIGHT PERSON FOR THIS JOB IF YOU HAVE:
Bachelor's degree in Embedded Software engineering, or its equivalent
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience
Strong analytical skills.
Able to think creatively.
Proficient understanding of engineering processes and engineering design tools.
Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
Accurate and strong attention to detail.
Proficient in MS Office and popular design software.
Ability to multitask and manage time effectively.
