Great career opportunity with well-established and successful, 30+ years and continually growing, Employee-Owned Engineering / Construction company for a Construction Superintendent for Industrial Process Projects. First two projects will be in Mid-Ohio for a Wastewater Treatment facility and the second for a Gas Processing Plant at a Landfill site. Future projects would likely include other process plant construction projects in Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) / Biogas process plants, CNG Commercial Vehicle Fleet Fueling Stations, Food & Beverage Plant projects throughout the lower 48 United states. Candidates who are accomplished Superintendents and managing subs with industrial process piping construction, mechanical equipment installation, commissioning, electrical Installation, and concrete foundation forming experience on commercial / industrial projects might be a good fit as well. These are new positions due to business growth in the company. Construction Superintendents will lead subcontractors and on-site team members in the site preparation and construction of these projects of which the construction phase will generally last 3 to 12 months in duration depending on scope of project. Position requires extensive travel to project sites located in continental US and has the following work schedule: 12 days on site, then home for weekend work schedule, back on-site on Monday. Candidates with experience with many trades is ideal. For this particular position, ideal candidate will reside within 500 miles of the Mid-Ohio area. Responsibilities:
Responsible for full on-site project execution of required work in a safe and economical manner in accordance with the design requirements, on schedule, and within budget
Provide guidance, direction, and coordination of all on-site subcontract work
Develop, implement, and assure compliance with the project schedule; 3week lookahead prepared weekly
Assure development, implementation, and compliance with project specific HASP program, including emergency evacuation plan
Assure compliance with Company HASP program and accident reporting
Assure Subcontractor compliance with all project safety requirements, including weekly safety meetings and reports
Assure Subcontractor compliance with all subcontract requirements, including: design requirements; staff drug and alcohol policies; sexual harassment policy; hazard communication policy; EEO policy; etc.
Assure compliance with all Company standards, systems, and practices
Produce Daily Construction Reports (DCRs), per ET standards with supporting photos to record daily progress and events
Produce weekly subcontractor coordination meeting minutes and monthly project progress reports.
Interface with Owners on-site representative
Present and conduct oneself in a professional, respectful manner in dealing with all parties, including: the Client; subcontractors, suppliers; professional service providers; government authorities, etc.
Interface with local authorities for all permit inspections and approvals
Coordinate all quality control inspections and oversight
Assure timely submittal of all reports, including timesheets and expense reports.
Assure project achieves schedule requirements and contract completion date
Assure project meets budget and earnings requirements
Review project drawings for constructability and material take-off.
Solicit and Review vendor and sub-contractor quotes for approval of purchase orders.
Customer contact, introduction, communication of overall project schedule and daily/weekly activities.
On project sight and home every other weekend - 12 days on, 2 days off basis throughout construction. Typical project durations are from 3 to 12 months.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Superintendent in similar field.
2 years experience with concrete foundation forms
Heavy Civil, foundations, equipment rigging, structure erecting experience ideal
Crane Heavy Lift experience
Minimum of 5 years as a trade worker (pipe fitting, concrete, civil, mechanical, or electrical).
Electrical equipment and utilities installation a plus
Must be physically capable of climbing ladders, walking complete job site, and lifting and moving up to 50 lbs. on occasion
Able to read blueprints, P&IDs, mechanical, and electrical schematics
Minimum of OSHA 30-hour class maintenance and daily/weekly safety meetings.
Direct multiple sub-contractors on-site concurrently
Create work-around plans to get projects back on schedule due to weather or resource delays
Good professional judgment.
Ability to manage priorities and workflow.
Good experience with Microsoft Excel creating and reading schedules
Experience with Procore or Microsoft Project is a plus
Good user skills with Microsoft Word and Outlook
Strong communication skills and ability to interact and communicate with all levels.
Proactive, organized, and proficient in supervising and motiving subordinates.
Ability to travel, 12 days on site, home for the weekend
