About this opportunity
Align is looking for a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) in San Jose, CA. This role will be part of a culture that is helping to improve lives every day through digital dentistry. The SDET should have exceptional skills with software testing and python programming.
In this role, you will…
Design, develop, troubleshoot and improve tests for software used in clinical research and clinical applications
Write auto-tests using Python 3+ and existing testing frameworks
Estimate testing scope, plan & monitor testing for project a s a part of larger Product Innovation team:
Be on a constant mission to maintain and improve the quality of our software
Follow best practices; produce high quality tests. Share your expertise, help your colleagues, and learn from others as well.
Interact actively with algorithm specialists and biomechanical engineers
Leverage the Scrum Agile process; take part in sprint planning, daily stand-up, retrospective and demonstration activities.
Work under Windows and Linux, use Git and Atlassian tools for version control, bug tracking and task tracking.
Follow quality and regulatory guidelines for medical device software development.
In this role, you’ll need …
Master’s degree or above in Computer Science or other STEM major, or equivalent
5+ years previous experience as QA Engineer / Deep knowledge main QA approaches and practices
2+ years hand on experience in test automation using Python 3+
SQL basic queries knowledge
Excellent analytical skills and ability to write detailed test cases
Familiar with statistical analysis basics
Have experience of various types of testing (functional, regression, integration etc)
Be familiar with test documentation
Desire to release product with good quality and ability to find defects.
Nice to have…
Have experience with cloud technologies like AWS, lambda, SQS, S3, Azure, Kubernetes etc.
Experience in software testing with non-binary quality criteria
Familiar with Machine Learning and how to test it
Familiar with API, REST, Python Requests lib
JIRA, Confluence, Bamboo, GIT user experience

Primary Location Base Salary Range: $159,400 to $178,900 USD
Base salary ranges are a guideline used to determine appropriate pay. Placement depends on the individual skills and experience level of a candidate plus the total compensation and equity across team members. For other locations outside of the primary location, the base salary range will be adjusted geographically. For field Sales roles, the salary listed is the base pay only and does not include the applicable commission plan. A cost of living adjustment may be added to base pay for higher cost areas in the U.S. Our internship hourly rates are a standard pay determined based on the position and your location, year in school, degree, and experience.
