Job Description Job Description The automotive service advisor will be responsible for overseeing the operations and administration of the daily operations of which include the service department for this repair shop.
They will play a crucial role in ensuring that customers' vehicles are serviced, repaired, and maintained efficiently and effectively.
Job Duties will include:
Manage and oversee the daily operations of the service department, including scheduling, workflow, and resource allocation. Ensure that all service advisors, technicians, and support staff are performing their duties effectively.
Provide excellent customer service by addressing customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints. Ensure that customers are kept informed about the status of their vehicles and that their expectations are met or exceeded.
Hire, train, and supervise service advisors, technicians, and support staff. Provide guidance and support to improve their performance, address any performance issues, and encourage teamwork.
Optimize the workflow and efficiency of the service department to ensure timely completion of repairs and maintenance tasks. Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) such as average repair time, customer satisfaction, and productivity.
Implement quality control measures to ensure that all repairs and maintenance work meet industry standards and customer expectations.
Manage the inventory of parts, tools, and equipment required for service and repairs. Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely availability of necessary supplies while controlling costs and minimizing waste.
Prepare and manage the service department budget, including forecasting and monitoring expenses, revenues, and profitability. Identify opportunities for cost reduction and revenue growth.
Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, safety standards, and manufacturer guidelines. Implement and enforce proper safety protocols and practices within the service department.
Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and vendors. Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to identify opportunities for business growth and customer retention.
