**About the role**
The Transportation Manager will work with the supply chain team and operation team to develop standardized processes and procedures. The role ensures the cost effective and reliable networking of Weee! and line haul connections to all carriers. The successful candidate will be responsible for understanding the overall transportation strategy and continually identifying operational, service, and process improvements.
**Responsibilities**
* Reviews logistics processes and procedures; identifies, recommends, and implements improvements to maximize delivery efficiency while minimizing costs.
* Reviews and analyzes transportation costs, parts procurement and delivery processes, inventory issues and other fulfillment metrics.
* Uses analytic methods and tools to understand, predict, and/or control logistics operations and processes.
* Prepare management recommendations such as rate increases or schedule changes to make the department efficient.
* Work closely with current transportation vendors and projects on scheduling load outs, routes, needed equipment and delivery schedule concerns.
* Monitor spending and prepare reports as needed to ensure that expenses are consistent with approved budgets both departmental and at the project level.
* Negotiate and authorize contracts with equipment and material suppliers and monitor contract fulfillment.
**Qualifications**
* 5 years of managerial/supervisory experience
* Advanced degree in Logistics or a related field preferred
* Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook) and computerized scanner equipment
* Bilingual Chinese/English or English/Spanish
* Experience in Transportation company or Third-Party Logistics (3PL)
* Ability to maintain a safe work environment by monitoring and enforcing safety procedures across all departments
* Strong problem-solving techniques and statistical analysis skills
* Availability to work a flexible schedule as needed, including planned and unplanned overtime, which may include weekends
