**Description**
**Overview:**
This position has overall responsibility and oversite of our branded fuels and services division. The main responsibilities include leading, hiring, training, coaching and developing their direct reports. The expectation is that the Sales Manager will be an integral part of setting and achieving goals that meet the overall company objectives for these divisions.

**Responsibilities Include**:
* Provide input and participate in the marketing, market planning and technical development of products and services. As a key member of our leadership team this individual will be directly involved in every facet of the retail fuel and service divisions and must possess a proven track record of strong organizational leadership.
* Responsible for obtaining profitable results through the sales team by developing the team through motivation, counseling, skills development and product knowledge development. Setting regular meetings with sales team and spending time in the field helping observe sales skills and providing sales closing support.
* Work closely with the operational and administration departments related to retail fuels and services.
* Manage and implement operational performance reporting, streamlining processes and systems wherever possible, and advising senior management on maximizing business relationships and creating an environment where customer service can flourish.
* Responsible for managing the retail fuels and services sales teams, developing a business plan covering sales, revenue, and expense controls, meeting agreed targets, and promoting the organizations presence throughout the Pacific Northwest.
* Assist in the development of the annual marketing plan, specifically advising on realistic forecasts for each vertical and territory (based on historical data, market trends, competitive activity, promotional strategy and sales effort), realistic costs of operating the sales force, and sales promotion program plans.
* Plan and implement a specific appraisal system that describes the responsibilities and performance standards for each member of the sales team, set individual territory sales and commission targets and administer the commission plan.
* Responsible for recruiting, hiring, training and holding sales reps accountable to meet objectives.
* Manage customer retention process, including cadence of business reviews, YOY volume reviews, plans and execution to maintain an acceptable retention percentage
* Work with equipment vendors and project managers to source competitive products and labor and manage projects and details related to customer sites.

**Required Job specification:**
* Experience with wholesale or retail fuel, along with managing long-cycle sales processes
* Extensive experience in all aspects of developing and maintaining sales strategies to meet organizational objectives.
* Strong understanding of customer and market dynamics and requirements.
* Proven ability to design, develop and implement both strategic programs and supporting tactics.
* Superior written and verbal communications skills coupled with highly developed interpersonal skills.
* Strong project management skills with demonstrated ability to multi-task and set priorities within tight timelines and high client expectations.
* Ability to quickly grasp complex technical and business concepts and express them in clear language.
* Flexible and open to changing priorities and managing multiple tasks simultaneously within compressed timeframes
