We are seeking a skilled Help Desk Engineer with expertise in server and network administration to join a dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing technical support and troubleshooting assistance to clients, with a focus on maintaining server infrastructure and ensuring network reliability.
This role requires strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication abilities, and a customer-centric approach.
Responsibilities:
Provide first-line technical support to clients via phone, email, or in-person, addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly and effectively.
Monitor and maintain server infrastructure, including installation, configuration, and ongoing management of Windows and Linux-based servers.
Perform routine system maintenance tasks such as software updates, patch management, and backup operations to ensure optimal server performance and data integrity.
Troubleshoot network-related issues, including connectivity problems, firewall configurations, and DNS/DHCP services.
Collaborate with internal teams to escalate complex technical issues and coordinate resolution efforts.
Document all support activities, solutions, and configurations to maintain accurate records and facilitate knowledge sharing.
Assist in the implementation of new technologies and solutions, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems and infrastructure.
Stay informed about emerging technologies and industry best practices to continuously improve service delivery and technical expertise.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field preferred.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in a help desk or technical support role, with a focus on server and network administration.
Proficiency in managing Windows Server and Linux/Unix-based operating systems.
Strong understanding of networking principles and protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and routing.
Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V is highly desirable.
Excellent troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues independently.
Strong customer service orientation with outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
Certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA), or Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) are a plus.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
