The Lucile Packard Foundation for Children's Health, in partnership with Stanford Medicine and Lucile Packard Children's Hospital, unlocks philanthropy to transform health for children and families in Northern California - and around the world. Through fundraising and grantmaking, the Foundation drives scientific research, innovation, and policy change that will improve care, advance cures, and reform healthcare systems for this and future generations.

MAIN FOCUS:  Program and administrative support for the Corporate Relations team.

LOCATION:  Palo Alto, CA (hybrid); the successful candidate for this role will be based in the Bay Area.

WHAT YOU'LL DO...

As the Development Associate, you will be an integral part of the three-person corporate giving team, reporting to the Senior Director of Corporate Relations. This team has an annual fundraising goal of $4.5M raised from corporate donors in support of the patient care, research, and training programs at Lucile Packard Children's Hospital Stanford and Stanford University School of Medicine.

The Development Associate provides general administrative and program support for the Senior Director and Associate Director, helping the team to maintain a donor-centric, high-quality level of work. This position will support the team across all steps of the gift cycle. The Development Associate must be resourceful and be able to act in an independent and anticipatory manner, completing numerous routine and detailed activities on a regular basis, while also proactively assisting with the team’s emergent needs.

The compensation range for this role is between $29-$34 per hour.

YOU'LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR...

Revenue Support – 35%

Helping gather materials to assist with developing proposals.

Cultivating knowledge of stakeholders and subject matter experts within the Foundation and across our partner institutions to share knowledge, collaborate, and provide faculty support.

Drafting and/or editing polished, error-free confidential donor correspondence, faculty communications, proposals, decks, and other documents as needed.

As assigned, conducting research on prospects and donors, in coordination with the Prospect Research Team.

Stewardship Program – 35% Creating and managing a stewardship calendar for the corporate relations team.

Leading the development and execution of quality, timely, and meaningful stewardship opportunities in partnership with lead field staff.

Managing and executing all Summer Scamper corporate sponsor benefits in partnership with cross-collaborative team on schedule and ensuring positive sponsor experience.

Overseeing corporate relations gift administration, working with Temporary Project Manager on timely completion of key aspects of Corporate Relations gift administration including GTF processing, acknowledgements, reporting, and gift tracking.

Event Support – 10% Coordinating internal and external meetings, site visits, and Hospital tours, including scheduling and logistics, preparing briefings and agendas, and onsite support.

Team Based Projects – 20% Project managing team-wide initiatives, based on needs and priorities.

Collaborating closely with Sr. Director, Corporate Relations to achieve team goals.

Collaborating with Events, Direct Mail, and other teams to accurately manage mailing and event invite lists. Partner with gift officers to ensure strategic donor engagement and solicitation.

As a power user of the Foundation’s constituent relationship management database (Raiser’s Edge), retrieving and updating information about and engagement with prospects and donors, requesting assignments, and generating reports.

YOU MUST HAVE... An associate degree or higher (or equivalent work experience) and at least two years of relevant experience.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite

A genuine interest in children’s health issues, a strong desire to work in a development environment, and a willingness to learn.

IT'S AN ADDED PLUS IF YOU HAVE EXPERIENCE WITH... Experience in donor facing or customer service work.

Proficiency in Raiser’s Edge or other donor database.

Experience with tools such as InDesign, Adobe Acobat Suite, or Canva.

Familiarity with Microsoft Planner, Monday.com, or other project management software.
