Role Summary
A Server at Vandelay Hospitality Group is responsible for providing exceptional food and beverage service to guests. As a Server, you are attentive and anticipatory to guests’ needs, ensuring our guests have an outstanding dining experience. You are knowledgeable in our menu offerings and can make suitable pairing suggestions. You are polished and professional at all times and lead yourself with the highest standards.
Responsibilities:
Create memorable moments of hospitality for our guests.
Maintain a high level of hospitality, professionalism, and communication with each team member and guest.
Develop and retain a complete knowledge of all food, beverage and dietary restrictions to answer guest questions.
Offer recommendations, take orders and develop relationships with guests to deliver personal and notable experiences.
Ensure all orders in and out of the kitchen are accurate, on time and of standard to guest expectations
Execute opening, mid-shift, closing and side work procedures associated with assigned station.
Maintain a clean section, including pre-bussing.
Process payment transactions and welcoming our guests back.
Handle disputes and/or complaints with the utmost respect, professionalism, and hospitality and go above and beyond to always accommodate special request.
Other duties as assigned.
Ensure proper alcohol service as is required by State and Local Alcohol Agencies
Requirements:
1+ years of server experience in an upscale or fine-dining high volume establishment
Understanding of classic food, wine service, pairings and service ware
Detail oriented with strong communication skills and work ethic
Team oriented with a strong sense of punctuality and reliability
Ability to navigate a fast-paced environment while being positive, respectful, professional and having a genuine attitude towards guests and colleagues
Fluent in both written and spoken English
Be able to safely lift up to 50 pounds and easily maneuver plates, cases of water, chairs, linen, and dining room tables
State required serving age (varies by state); TABC Certification, as required
Certified for food and alcohol service as is required by State and Local Agencies
