About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join their mission-driven organization. The CFO will play a pivotal role in shaping the financial future of the organization, serving as a strategic thought partner to the Executive Director, and aligning financial strategies with sustainable growth. This executive will also oversee all financial and operational responsibilities, ensuring the implementation of robust financial processes, and driving system upgrades for greater efficiency and transparency. As the Board Treasurer, the CFO will work closely with the Board of Directors and the Finance and Audit Committees. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in nonprofit financial management, including experience with fiscal sponsorship and a strong understanding of GAAP and FASB accounting standards for nonprofits.The successful CFO will be responsible for providing detailed financial management and oversight for the organization's fiscally sponsored projects, including budget development, financial reporting, and compliance. They will also be expected to explore new opportunities for product and service development, conduct market research, and create business cases that align with the organization's mission. The role involves staff infrastructure development, team management, and a commitment to the values of the organization, particularly in addressing systemic inequality and fostering a culture of service. The candidate should have excellent leadership and management skills, the ability to mentor and support a finance and accounting team, and a high degree of integrity and dependability. A Master's degree in business or finance is preferred, and a CPA is a plus.
