We are looking to fill the role of Senior Data & Analytics Specialist for our Data & Commercial Planning Team in St. John’s, NL or remotely! This position will drive actionable business insights by compiling and analyzing data from multiple sources. The Senior Data and Analytics Specialist will utilize and optimize our existing marketing and BI tech stack, while also integrating any necessary new tools. In partnership with key leaders across Mysa, the role is designed to define, design, and deliver data-driven decision-making throughout the company. This strategic collaboration aims to enhance operational efficiencies and foster a data-centric culture at Mysa.

Your Duties and Responsibilities: Conduct detailed analyses and deliver reports that illustrate the impact of data on key business metrics, translating complex datasets into actionable insights for strategic decision-making across the company.

Own the strategy, implementation, and maintenance of key BI and marketing systems such as Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Segment, Amplitude, Metabase, Customer.io , etc.

Develop and execute SQL queries on PostgreSQL for advanced data analysis and reporting in Metabase.

Provide technical expertise and support for BI tools, including PostgreSQL, Metabase, and Python-based ETL processes.

Implement and maintain data pipelines in Python, ensuring data accuracy and consistency across systems.

Manage and optimize ETL processes using Python on Databricks to ensure efficient data integration and transformation.

Collaborate with the data engineering team to enhance data models and improve data warehouse efficiency on Databricks.

Facilitate and enhance communication between the data analytics, marketing, sales, and product teams to ensure data-driven strategies are fully integrated and aligned with broader company objectives.

Analyze customer data to uncover deep insights into behaviors, preferences, and patterns; leverage these findings to support targeted marketing strategies and enhance customer engagement.

Develop and execute methods for quantifying the return on investment (ROI) of marketing campaigns, providing regular insights to marketing and executive teams to inform budgeting and strategic adjustments.

Oversee the broad picture of stack integrations and the associated documentation.

Maintain data and tracking taxonomy across all required platforms.

Lead the integration of the BI stack with existing tools to enable comprehensive data analysis.

Coordinate with developers and required teams to implement website and product event tracking.

Champion training and enablement across the analytics stack.

Manage relationships with internal technology users and vendors to ensure smooth operation and support of BI tools.

Monitor and troubleshoot BI tools and systems to ensure high performance and reliability.

Establish proper data hygiene, cleansing data stores, and monitor the proper tracking of data.

Your Star Qualities: An enthusiastic approach to taking on new opportunities and challenges

STEM Degree (e.g. Business Analytics, Operations Research, Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Chemistry, Psychology, Mathematics or Statistics)

5+ years relevant experience in eCommerce analytics, product analytics or consumer tech analytics

Ability to think strategically about how data and analytics can help us achieve business results and exceed targets

A desire to look at future business needs and set Mysa up for success when it comes to data and analytics management

Previous experience implementing data infrastructure or platform

Track record of working with cross-functional teams and the ability to get things done and prioritized

Proven skills, education, and/or applicable certifications in: Analytics platforms (Google Analytics, Amplitude), Tracking infrastructure (Google Tag Manager, Segment, etc.), SQL, Visualization tools (Tableau, Looker, Power BI)

Ability to work with colleagues and peers to develop, monitor and improve relevant KPIs for domains in brand marketing, product marketing and e-commerce and growth marketing

Prior experience working with product and engineering teams on enabling data-driven decision making through implementing product analytics

Experience evaluating, building and maintaining a marketing team’s tech stack informed by company stage, resources, and plans

Great time management skills with ability to prioritize important work
