Director of Auxiliary Programs

Fort Worth

Job Description Job Description Position Description: Trinity Valley School seeks a full-time Director of Auxiliary Programs to join the TVS faculty beginning in the summer of 2024.

Auxiliary Programs at Trinity Valley School: The Auxiliary Programs Team at Trinity Valley School follows this published vision statement: In keeping with the mission and philosophy of Trinity Valley School, our Auxiliary Programs exist to develop our students' wide constructive interests by expanding and enriching their academic, creative, and athletic horizons. TVS Auxiliary Programs aim to develop upstanding and empathetic leaders by building authentic partnerships with the Fort Worth community, creating meaningful opportunities for TVS faculty and students to learn and serve, and co-constructing solutions to needs in the community.

To fulfill this vision, the Team oversees the following programming: (1) XPLORE: Summer at TVS camps and programs, (2) after-school enrichment classes, (3) extended-day childcare, (4) TVS Dance classes ,and (5) special programs such as week-long clinics and workshops. Through all programming, the Team aims to build trust and relationships with parents and students, provide opportunities for each child's self-expression, and help students grow their interests and passions in a variety of environments outside the typical school day. Importantly, the Team's programs encourage children to develop their academic, creative, and athletic skills, as well as build their curiosity about the world.

The Team consists of three full-time employees: the Director of Auxiliary Programs, the Assistant Director of Auxiliary Programs, and the Trojan Extended Day (TED) Coordinator, who manages extended-day care in the Lower School. Additionally, two part-time employees exclusively assist with extended-day care. Beyond these Team members, different groups of TVS faculty and community partners serve throughout the year by leading specific after-school programs and summer camps and by supporting the extended-day care staff.

Above all, TVS seeks candidates who love working with young people and place students at the heart of their work. TVS welcomes candidates who are willing to engage in campus life through coaching, volunteering with Trojan Outdoor Experience (TOE), leading students on Trojans Abroad Programs, and/or directing co-curricular clubs and programs. Additionally, the successful candidate must be able to work collegially across the divisions.

Knowledge, Experience, and Skill Requirements: The ideal candidate will:

Hold a bachelor's degree in education or related field (master's preferred; not required).

Have classroom teaching experience, preferably in lower school settings.

Be comfortable working with students, parents and teachers with a high level of empathy and commitment to perspective-taking.

Fully support the four main objectives of the TVS Mission Statement.

Recognize, embrace, and advance institutional goals for Equity, Inclusion, and Community.

Create and promote inclusive learning spaces in which all students feel safe, honored, appreciated, and respected for who they are.

Nurture a deep feeling of community through actions and attitudes.

Balance caring and flexibility while holding students to high expectations.

Exemplify personal and professional integrity.

Work collaboratively, communicate effectively, and seek continued growth as life-long learners.

Responsibilities of the position include:

uphold the Auxiliary Programs Vision Statement and ensure that auxiliary staff, instructors, interns, and counselors align their practices with the Statement

collaborate with campus leadership to ensure that auxiliary programming aligns with school goals and strategic plans

oversee the planning and implementation of extended day, enrichment, and TVS Dance programs throughout the school year, as well as camps during the summer term

coordinate effective implementation of annual community outreach initiatives, wherein TVS students purposefully engage with and learn alongside non-TVS students

design and publish program catalogs and guides throughout the year (e.g. Fall Enrichment, Spring Enrichment, Summer Camps, TVS Dance, Extended Day), and build the corresponding seasons into the departmental registration platform

collaborate with the Business Team to develop/maintain a budget for auxiliary programming, set price points for all programs, determine compensation models for instructors, and establish annual revenue goals

collaborate with the Marketing Team to implement effective strategies, including web page design, social media posts, print and electronic flyer distribution, and communication patterns

oversee public-facing aspects of auxiliary programming, including schedule, online registration platforms, and mass communications

oversee employee aspects of auxiliary programming, including publishing available positions, reviewing applications, interviewing and selecting candidates, hiring, onboarding, development, and compensation

oversee vendor recruitment, screening, compensation, and evaluation

design and implement high-quality orientation, training, development, and supervision of paid and volunteer staff, including contracted vendors

approve volunteer hours, supply orders, and reimbursements

directly supervise and support the Assistant Director of Auxiliary Programs, Trojan Extended Day (TED) Coordinator, and all part-time and seasonal auxiliary staff

closely monitor the regional and national auxiliary programs landscape through careful market research, frequent collaboration with regional auxiliary directors, and participation in professional development

other duties as assigned
