About the Role
The Company is seeking a Managing Director, Head of Defined Contribution to lead a strategic initiative in the insurance and alternative asset management businesses. The successful candidate will be responsible for defining, evaluating, and recommending growth opportunities within the defined contribution market. This role requires a creative and strategic thinker with the ability to build and lead new business lines, as well as a substantial background in the insurance, asset management, and retirement industries. The Managing Director will be tasked with developing and executing a multi-year financial strategic plan, leading executive reviews, and influencing at the seniormost levels of the organization. Experience in product innovation, solution selling, and a proven track record in raising assets in the investment management marketplace is essential. The role also involves collaboration with internal and external partners, and the ability to align resources for successful outcomes.Applicants for the Managing Director, Head of Defined Contribution position at the company should have a demonstrated ability to think creatively, strategically, and to educate and motivate potential partners. They must possess expert communication skills and the ability to influence at the highest levels, as well as a history of designing and delivering innovative solutions in the financial services industry. The ideal candidate will have a detailed understanding of the legal and regulatory aspects of managing defined contribution assets and a track record of successful product innovation. Experience in M&A is desired but not required. The role demands a leader with the ability to coach, mentor, and share knowledge, and who can work with operating committees and boards to inform and promote. A substantial background in leadership and sales across both intermediary and institutional asset management distribution channels is also a key qualification.
